G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone – Toy Review
Scrap-Iron: A Mighty Figure
Scrap-Iron is a single carded figure, but Hasbro has given him a larger-than-life upgrade. This deluxe edition of Scrap-Iron comes with a giant double-barreled missile launcher that adds to his imposing presence. Back in the 80s, this figure was available at the same price as a standard single carded figure. Today, with its increased size and enhanced features, it is understandable that the price has gone up.
Impressive Articulation
When it comes to articulation, Scrap-Iron shines. The standard Hasbro Diego articulation allows for a wide range of poseability. However, upon opening the toy, you may notice that the joints are a bit stiff. It is recommended to move the joints carefully to avoid any breakage or damage.
A Word of Caution
While playing with the figure, you may encounter some challenges with the knee joint. It can be a bit stubborn to move, both in the upper and lower parts. It is advised to be gentle while bending the knee to avoid any unwanted issues. If you encounter difficulty, it is best to stop and not force the joint to prevent any damage.
Anti-Armor Drone: A Powerful Tank
Accompanying the figure is the Anti-Armor Drone, a mighty tank missile launcher. This tank is a sight to behold, with its impressive design and functionality. It adds another layer of excitement to playtime, allowing kids and collectors alike to imagine epic battles and create thrilling scenarios.
Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone – A Closer Look
Articulation Issues
The Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone set offers an impressive range of articulation. However, upon closer inspection, it is evident that there are some issues with certain joints. In particular, the knees seem to have stress marks, which could be a result of the plastic melting together. While one knee is maneuverable with some effort, the other joint remains immobile. This is an unexpected setback for a figure of this caliber.
Design Flaws
Aside from the articulation problems, there are a few design flaws worth mentioning. The gun holster, which is usually a separate piece, is now attached to the figure’s belt. While this may seem like a minor issue, it does restrict movement to some extent. Additionally, the head of the figure appears smaller than usual. It is difficult to ascertain whether this is intentional due to shaved sides or if the head was indeed made smaller to accommodate the helmet. Regardless, it is not the most aesthetically pleasing aspect of the figure.
Attention to Detail
Despite the aforementioned flaws, it is important to appreciate the overall attention to detail in the figure’s sculpt. Hasbro has maintained their reputation for producing high-quality helmets and hats for their G.I. Joe classified series. The same level of attention can be seen in the rest of the figure’s design, as is typical for the classified series. It is clear that great effort has been put into capturing the essence of Scrap-Iron & the Anti-Armor Drone.
While the Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone set does have its flaws, such as articulation issues and design concerns, it still retains the signature quality found in the classified series. The attention to detail and overall sculpt of the figure are commendable, despite some setbacks. For fans of G.I. Joe, this set is still a worthwhile addition to their collection.
The Tank
The tank also looks great. Is that an accessory? Yes, is everything an accessory kinda? You get in your package, this four treaded base um its got some ball jointed attachments here. So these kind of do move a little rubberized, but not movable Treads rubberized. Yes, there are different plastic from the Black, so they feel different, but yeah they dont actually move, and then this has paint apps. There has anti tank number two Mars Industries logos coolness on it. Even the back has got some headlights on it. Make sure you dont run into it and yeah its got a ball joint, its got even some green up there and theres, even a silver accent on what Im, assuming is the Wi Fi connection, and then it comes with two laser guided missiles.
The Laser Guided Missiles
Im gon na go: hey smart guy is laser Z or S I feel like when I was growing up. It was a z and at some point it became an S thats thats.
The Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone is a toy that boasts incredible attention to detail. The figure of Scrap-Iron itself looks amazing with its realistic appearance and intricate paintwork. The tank, which serves as an accessory, is also well-designed and features cool details like the Mars Industries logos and headlights. The laser guided missiles add an extra touch of authenticity to the overall package. Whether you’re a fan of G.I. Joe or just love high-quality action figures, the Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone is definitely worth adding to your collection.

Nice Upscale Version with a Bent
The Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone is a nice upscale version of the original toy. However, it is worth noting that the one I received was slightly bent, which was a disappointing find. But I believe that it can be easily fixed by heating it up.
Awesome Smoke and Fire Effects
One great feature of this toy is that it comes with two different awesome plumes of smoke and fire exhaust. These effects can be used to enhance the play experience. You can stick the missiles in on both sides and have them shoot out. The toy comes with a shorter plume as well as a longer one, which adds variation to the play scenarios.
Secure Missile Plugs
The missile plugs in the back of the toy are designed in such a way that they do not fall out easily. This adds to the overall durability of the toy during play. It’s a minor detail, but it’s good to see that Hasbro has taken the time to ensure that the missiles stay securely in place.
Tilting Ability and Ball Joint Movement
One aspect that could be improved is the tilting ability of the toy. The original version had the ability to tilt up more, whereas the Hasbro version only swivels. However, the addition of a ball joint allows for movement and poses that can compensate for the limited tilting range. It would be even better if the ball joint had a wider range of motion.
Cool Styled Effects
The toy also comes with similarly styled effects, which give the impression of impacts or explosions. These effects add an extra level of coolness to the toy and can be used to create dynamic display scenes. However, it can be a bit challenging to figure out the best way to display these effects. Some look like impacts, while others resemble the back of something. Experimenting with different poses and scenarios can help find the best way to showcase these effects.
The Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone is a great addition to any G.I. Joe toy collection. Despite the minor issue of a bent toy, which can be easily fixed, the overall quality and playability are impressive. The inclusion of multiple smoke and fire effects adds excitement to play scenarios. The secure missile plugs ensure that the missiles stay in place during play. Although the tilting ability could be improved, the ball joint movement compensates for it to some extent. The cool styled effects provide a visual impact, though their optimal display might require some experimentation. Overall, this toy offers a lot of fun and imaginative play possibilities.

Explosions and Details
Hasbro introduces the G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone, a toy set that includes six extra pieces of explosions for an additional cost of fifteen dollars. The trademark scrap iron helmet adds a glossy touch, giving it a non-see-through appearance. However, it’s worth noting the Cobra heel design. The Mohawk is molded into the helmet, ensuring a perfect fit and thoughtful design. The proportionate head is a noticeable improvement in this edition.
The Unique Handgun
Included in the set is a unique handgun, with a homemade appearance. It resembles the kind of weapon one might craft oneself. Although I can’t recall its origin from any specific movie, the handgun fits perfectly in Scrap-Iron’s hand and holster. The end of the gun features a hole, possibly for muzzle effects, although I don’t recall any previous G.I. Joe toys having this feature. It’s worth mentioning that Marvel Legends muzzle effects are compatible with this figure, providing additional options for customization.
The Well-Done Remote
In line with the times, the 2023 version of Scrap-Iron comes with a meticulously designed remote control. The remote features two controllers and a nice little targeting system, adding to the overall playability of the toy. It’s pleasing to see that Scrap-Iron can hold the remote with ease, further enhancing the enjoyment and interactivity of the play experience.

Thumb Pad and Articulation
You can even get his thumb on the thumb pad wow, and so I like to have him kind of like so I dont need to have him bend that knee. But yeah, Scrap Iron was a fan favorite toy. As far as my friends concerned, he felt like a deal because he had this Mega tank rocket thing yeah.
The Size and Appearance
That makes sense. In fact, this one isnt, this kind of dumb but whatever and in case it wasnt clear earlier. It is a six-inch GI Joe scale, which is the taller of the six-inch scales, but I bet you, I bet you he’s got some big feet to fill. Ah, there we go. I will also point out that I, like he’s got like a totally different color flesh tone than any other guy like he’s kind of pale. Looking I like it in a good way, not me dead plastic way. He’s got some lively flesh tone like doesn’t get out much yeah looks good.
Miniature Tanks and Effect Pieces
I don’t know why, but I just like miniature tanks. Uh JoJo classified is always a well-done figure, I’m gonna say um. This is 20 additional for a tank and some effect pieces. The effect pieces are also nice. I don’t think I’ve seen these since one of the black widows like years ago um – and these are new sculpts. I don’t recognize any of these from any previous version of effect, explosion things so that’s nice, too.

The Knees: A Disappointment
When it comes to the G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone, I must admit that I was left slightly disappointed. And for a price of 45 dollars, I expected more. The biggest letdown for me was the knees. Despite putting in a lot of effort to bend them, they just don’t seem to hold up well. I should have tried heat or some other method to make them more flexible. It’s a shame that something as simple as bending knees could be a major drawback for this figure.
Cool Battle Explosions, But Not Worth Four Big Ones
Although the battle explosions and other accessories are pretty cool, the overall experience is not worth giving it a perfect score. I would rate it at 3.5 out of 5. The knee issue just brings down the value of this toy. It seems more suited for toy photography enthusiasts or those who love setting up battle dioramas. While I do have battle setups, the drone’s missile launchers would be better placed across the room due to their design. So, unfortunately, they might not be used as much as I initially thought.
Aesthetically Pleasing, Despite Questions About Functionality
I cannot deny that the G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone looks visually appealing. The attention to detail is commendable, and it is clear that Hasbro has done a great job in terms of design. The explosions, in particular, are well done and add a touch of realism to the toy. However, I do have my doubts about the functionality of some of its features. The smoke effect, for example, looks more like sugar candy than actual smoke. Nevertheless, when you remove the plume, the figure still holds up well and looks impressive.
A Closer Look at the Cost
It’s important to note that the Scrap-Iron figure is part of the G.I. Joe Classified series, which are generally priced at around 20 dollars. However, this particular figure is priced at 45 dollars, making it significantly pricier than others in the series. The only notable difference is that it comes with battle effects. While the figure does come with an Anti-Armor Drone, it’s worth mentioning that the drone is much larger than the figure itself. Whether the additional battle effects and the larger drone justify the higher price is up for debate.
The G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone is a visually appealing toy with some standout features. However, the issue with the knees and the higher price compared to other figures in the series are major drawbacks. It could still be a great addition for collectors or those who enjoy toy photography or creating dioramas.

Design and Features
The new Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone toy has definitely made an impression with its unique design and features. Unlike the original version, this one does not come with wheels underneath to simulate movement. Instead, it features a stationary turret design.
Some collectors might be surprised by the absence of fake wheels underneath, but considering the larger size of the toy, it seems understandable. Although it lacks the feature of rolling movement, it can still be manually pushed for added playability.
Compared to other deluxe figures released by Hasbro, Scrap-Iron is a standout. Hasbro has been known to pull some questionable moves with their Star Wars figures, but this time they have done a great job with the G.I. Joe line.
Posability and Display
One slight disappointment with the Scrap-Iron figure is the limited posability. Many collectors prefer figures that can be posed in dynamic and action-packed stances, but Scrap-Iron falls short in this aspect. He is depicted in a more static pose, with his shoulders and arms down, which may appear quite vanilla and boring to some.
However, this static pose could also have its merits. Imagine a scene of the Cobra forces planning their attack, with Scrap-Iron and his fellow cobras standing in an intimidating formation. While this may not be the actual attack pose, it does lend itself to display possibilities for collectors who enjoy recreating scenes.
Value and Extras
When it comes to value, Scrap-Iron delivers. The figure itself is well-made and has a solid build. It is a great addition to any GI Joe collection and can easily stand alongside other figures without looking out of place.
Additionally, the toy comes with several extras that enhance its playability. The Anti-Armor Drone is a fantastic addition, adding an extra layer of excitement to imaginative play scenarios. The figure also comes with additional accessories, allowing collectors to customize their display to their liking.

Furthermore, the well-designed remote control is a testament to Hasbro’s attention to detail. This toy set is sure to delight both young and old G.I. Joe enthusiasts alike.
I’m gonna, say four hammers due to knees, although clearly they have been bent, he will bend the knee, but it shouldn’t take that much effort.
Overall, Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron & Anti-Armor Drone toy is a solid addition to the G.I. Joe line. While some may criticize the lack of posability and the absence of fake wheels, the unique design and added playability make up for it.
