. This is a new little drone from holy stone. It’S, a beginner’s drone beginners, learn to fly drone, and you can guess that, just by looking at it just by the size of this thing, a tiny little drone very safe little drone meant for beginner. Pilots meant for kids too. I guess with the prop guards installed this this isn’t going to harm anybody. If you fly, you might sting a bit if you get hit by these propellers, but i really doubt that these will cut you folks and tell you the truth again. Beginners learn to fly drone now what’s special about it’s under 250 grams. This does not require registration in most countries because of that it’s under the weight limits of most countries. However, it does have a camera on it. Keep that in mind folks. So if your country does require drones with a camera, be registered, this one might be an issue in your country. There are certain countries that require not all countries, but a few does do require registration. If you have a camera, it has several different flight modes available for it, including throw to go where you could just toss this in the air, and it will start flying by itself right away. Also, it has circle fly where it will fly around in a circle. You know a radius of about one meter, one and a half meter it’s a small circle again beginner’s drone it’s something that’s interest.

Beginners pilots it’s, pretty cool to see, though you’ll see when i demonstrate it downstairs. It also has rotate mode, which is actually spin, where it spins super fast that’s, also pretty neat for beginner pilots, so they’ll like that and, of course, the obligatory flips. This can do flips so that’s. One thing you don’t see much these days, drones with flip capability, like you, used to sever quite a few years ago. Um they mostly disappeared, but it seems to be coming back. Getting the flip feature, and this one has now. I mentioned the camera. It is a 720p camera. You know not very high resolution. You know you’re not going to expect to see a cinematic camera on a beginner’s drone, especially in this price range folks. So don’t don’t expect this to be providing you uh 4k video um, even the ones that do claim 4k, often more often than not are really not true. 4K, at least they’re honest about the camera 720p. Now the video from this uh particular drone, video and photos are sent to your phone using 2.4 gigahertz uh fp or 2.4 gigahertz wi fi. Now everybody’s phone has 2.4 gigahertz wi fi capability, so you don’t have to worry about whether your phone has 5 gigahertz 802.11. Ac wi fi it doesn’t apply to this drone. This drone will work with most phones, so you don’t worry about that folks and it sent to your phone via the hs fpv app available on google play and itunes.

Again i mentioned 720p video and photos now. It also has supposedly advanced features of voice, control and gesture camera control. I tried to do this use both those features down in the basement and you’ll see in the follow on flights. Here i could not get those advanced features to work of uh voice, control or just your camera control so, but i did get the video working. The video does work with this and you’ll see when we go flying. So what do you get in this particular package? Of course you get the drone, you get two batteries and i didn’t mention about the batteries. These are a little uh, 3.7 volt, 300 milliamp or oh i’ll, correct it right here how many milliampere it is. What i find out looks like could have sworn it was 300, but we’ll find out, but it dis does give quite a long flight time there. It goes 3.7, volt, 500 milliamp per hour and it i’m guessing the flight time that i saw was about 12 minutes minutes or so you’ll see it. When we go flying. I will include the flight time when we uh in the video when we go flying down in the basement to show you, but it flew for quite some time on that little 500 milliamp hour battery. I was surprised how long it would fly so that battery does. Last, a long time now, each of these batteries is charged using a micro, usb port.

You can use a wall charger, a phone wall charger with usb. They give you two cables to charge the two batteries that come with this, the one for the drone that’s already in the drone and spare battery, or you can even use your computer to charge these little 500 milliamp hour batteries, because your computer’s usb port should have The power needed for these tiny little batteries to charge um other things you get with this. You get the instruction manual i forgot to mention this instruction manual comes in english, german and japanese. Okay, those are the three languages that are in here. I was kind of surprised they didn’t have spanish in there, but it’s english, german and japanese. In that particular instruction manual. You get a full set of prop guard or full set of spare propellers to go with the drone. In case, you break a propeller and you get prop guards, and these prop guards work actually rather well. I do recommend you install them, especially if you’re flying indoors, they will protect your propellers. You get a phone holder for your phone to use when you’re flying with wi fi. Now the thing about this phone holder, it is very wide and very large, and i i can actually stick my um. I have this armor 60 phone – it usually i can’t it. Doesn’T hold in most phone wall chargers, this one it does so i was kind of pleasantly surprised that they actually gave the space for bigger phones on the on this particular holder, uh.

To use with my phone um, you get the controller let’s go over the controller. Well, you get this little top piece where this fake antenna is, and this pry is off. You pull down in this little lever bar here and my fingers a little slippery right now and there it goes it pops off, and then you can insert the phone holder into that into the controller let’s go over the controls um first off. This is powered by three aaa batteries in the back and the controls we got are this upper left button here is for adjusting rates, and if you hold the button down for three seconds, the drone will go into spin mode, fast, spin mode, uh. The button on the right here is for doing flips. You do a single press and then tell which direction to flip with the right control stick or if you hold a dime for three seconds. The drone will enter into circle mode circle position mode, and additionally, this does also have headless mode and you activate endless mode by pushing in to the pitch roll stick other buttons on here is we have automatic takeoff and landing, and actually this is actually when you Press this button, this arms motors, brings them into uh idle um. It doesn’t actually have auto takeoff this just arms. When you press this motor and then you can take off by giving it throttle, but it does have auto land capability if you’re in the air and you press this button, the drone will automatically lower itself and land, and this button here is for start stopping and Starting video, um hold quick press we’ll, take a photo and a long press will take a uh start the video or stop the video.

And, of course, this is your on off switch and to arm and connect to the drone you to first turn on the drone and i’ll show you that right now notice the flashing red light. Then you turn on the controller and to connect the controller to the drone. You need to move. This left stick full up and then pull down, and then you notice that the light stops blinking and we are now connected and we should be able to start the motors. And if i pushed up on the stick, it would take off. But we’re not going to do that actually and also guys emergency stop which you activate by pressing both of these buttons simultaneously in case you end up in a tree or if it starts flying away from you and you want to stop it just press both of These buttons together and that will stop the motors and this will drop like a rock so be prepared for that. Okay, let’s, take it down in my basement and fly it in the basement and then we’ll. Take it outside in my front yard here and fly it outside see how it flies indoors and outdoors so hope you enjoy these flights good morning, quadcopter 101, here we’re going to start off with an indoor flight of the hs340 and then we’ll go to outdoors now. I’Ve got a little less room here to fly today because i’m, trying to start my tomato plants for the year over here, so we’re, going to keep the flight over in this area here mainly over my uh jacuzzi there, which i’d never use so okay.

Turning on the quadcopter, you press and hold this button down until the light flashes and put it on a flat level, surface now, i’m going to be flying indoors with the prop guards on and then turning on the transmitter like so and then we go up and Down and we notice that the light on the quadcopter has gone solid, meaning it is now connected to the transmitter now to take off. All we got to do is first start the motors by pressing, like that. Now we don’t have automatic takeoff on this. It just this just starts the motors, but it does have automatic landing to take off. You actually need to press up on the throttle and we’re going to track check. The trim first go up to here: it’s actually trimmed somewhat nicely, although it’s drifting a little bit farther forward so to counter that i’m going to hold this button down here and then push back and to the left too. Until we get solid right about there. Folks, good hover, so we’re trimmed up let’s bring it back toward me. Going down a little bit lower actually come up a bit higher to my level here, so you can see it let’s check that trim up now, i’m, not flying with the camera right now, when we go outdoors, i’ll turn on the camera, for it, so it’s trimmed Up nicely so again, you hold down this button and then you bump left or right or forward or backward until it’s, trimmed up properly.

Okay, let’s see how this flies around indoors, so going around the area. You know these little holy stone, beginner, drones, they’re. Actually very nice flyers. I got ta admit that i mean very nice flyers now, i’m in beginners right right now, let’s take it up a higher rate and try intermediate rate flying nicely. Okay, intermediate let’s, try flip there’s a flip coming back toward me, just bringing up close and we’ll. Do a forward flip toward me backward flip and a left side flip. So this thing flips very nicely folks. Okay, with that in mind, let’s try the next one. I think it’s circle fly by holding this button down here. Let’S come out of that so i’m gon na hit the wall let’s come over here, a bit more and try it again. A little more over here circle fly hit. The wall keeps on flying. So this is a circle, fly what it does folks center’s on a point here now you can’t increase. No, you can’t change the radius of that circle. Turning so, if those are wondering, if you could you can’t, it just looks like about a meter. Let’S try rapid spin now holding that button there there’s a rapid spin feature, which is pretty cool, not that really burns up a battery so don’t. Do it too much folks, okay, headless mode, let’s point it that direction let’s hold the headless mode button down pressing it. I can’t remember, which way you had this mode was when i started this forward back: okay, let’s.

Try it again have this mode’s on forward no it’s, not on it’s, like i got ta hold that button down don’t i that was gyro calibration. Okay, let’s bring it back over, try this again holding this button down headless mode’s on now, it’s blinking. So if i turn this way sideways, i think that’s, the ford back if i turn it sideways. Oh i had this mod is not on i’m, not sure what’s going on here. Folks, i thought this move was on i’ll. Tell you what let’s land it let’s! Try that land button and point the quadcopter in that direction and we’re going to calibrate the gyros first by bringing both sticks down and to the left and we’re going to try that again, starting the motors, giving a throttle trim is yeah. Let’S go up a bit higher, see which way it’s drifting, i think i mean – maybe no. This turns fine. Okay holding the button down pushing forward. You know the smoke did not come on. I think i must have pressed the wrong button. Folks, quick press so i’m going to go through the manual again, obviously i’m doing something wrong with headless mode let’s. Take it up the highest rate now one two three: this is high rate and i want to see how quickly it turns look, how quickly this thing turns in high rate it’s, very maneuverable, even with the prop guards on so this is actually a nice flyer for Beginners to learn on it’s, actually a wonderful little plane, a little drone kind of fun and we’re trying to see what the flight time of it is indoors here before we go outdoors, try its camera.

It seems to be quite a long flyer: okay, um again, let’s. Try the flips again coming down a little more, so i don’t hit the ceiling it’s still flipping. Now i don’t want to do too many flips with this folks and the reason being flips actually put a lot of stress on motors, so i’d recommend. If you get this don’t, you know do a couple of flips but that’s about it. You know each flight don’t exceed more than a few flips per flight because they do put a lot of stress on motors, okay and another. One to put stress on the motors is that rapid spin that thing coming out of it again so keep that to a minimum. Also that also burns up your batteries quickly. When you do that rapid spin, maneuverable little thing now, i’m, not sure you’re going to be able to fly like fpv racing with this, even though you’re going to see what you see you know with your phone because i’m, you know we’re using wi fi to transmit On so when we go outdoors, i’ll try to demonstrate that there’s going to be about i’m, going to guess about a half second lag or so to maybe even a second lag and that’s enough to really confuse you when you’re flying fpv. If you do fly fpv, i recommend putting it in the low rate and going slowly like this, and then you can fly fpv with your phone.

But if you go rapid high rate, then you are going to have a hard time flying fpv with this. Well, it is a long flyer, i got ta, admit long, flyer, maneuverable, flyer yeah, you don’t, you could press that button and fly in circles or you could do it manually. Like i’m doing those of you wondering what i’m doing i’m moving both sticks to the left, and you get it to fly like that. You want to go the other direction. Both sticks to the right, pushing forward a little and you get it pointed downward as it’s doing that put pushing forward into the left, pushing forward to the right nice little drum. I, like it going up higher, come back down right there that’s about right and relatively easy to fly. Let’S fix that trim there we go and going back to flying hs340 where’s that other one i flew from uh always stoned a couple weeks ago. Hs250. That was a fun little thing too. Holy still makes fun little drones. They do they’re fun, zoom, maneuverable things and long flying when’s. This gon na what’s, the battery on this gon na go well let’s go over by my tomatoes. I got tomatoes and also what am i trying to go this year: peppers, uh, thyme, oregano, a lot of herbs and, although i’m from california none of that herb, i know what you’re thinking out there, folks so no it’s i’m in pennsylvania. Now i can’t do that.

Whoa, i almost did myself so boy. This is a long fire, even though i’m flying like this, i would expect that battery to be dead by now, but it’s not i’m, really surprised how long this thing flies. I’M, really surprised how long this thing flies. That’S very long, very efficient motors. They did something to increase efficiency, this with prep guards on indoors, with pop guards on. When i go outdoors, though folks i’m going to take those pop cards off um, you know one thing i haven’t tried let’s land it. I haven’t tried that toss and fly toss and throw and go what they call it. I believe let’s try that, while we’re indoors with prop guard so i’m just going to toss it and see if that actually does fly, okay, let’s see, oh, my goodness, let’s. Try that again, okay land in my hand, okay, you got ta, wait till light solid. Well, i think i’m gon na have to re, bind it there. We go. You got ta wait until the light is solid. Folks, before you try this okay make sure that light is solid on the drone and let’s. Try it again toss it, throw and go so that’s cool i’m back in beginners, right let’s! Stick it up and oh there we go lights flashing now and hear that the transmitter also beeps to let you know so. This has telemetry too warning of low battery the light flashes and the transmitter beeps when you’re on low battery we’re gon na fly it until it lands itself well it’s, trying to land stuff i’m, giving it more and more throttle to keep it in the air that’s.

It folks it’s depleted, so that’s the flight time you get with prop guards on and flying aggressively. Okay let’s take this outdoors and see how it flies outdoors and we’ll try out the camera while we’re out there so hope you enjoy the second part of this flight. Okay, it’s time for the outdoor flight of the or the holy stone, hs, 340.. Okay to start the motors again, we actually want to start the video recording and uh we’ll start the video recording by selecting the camera and cameras recording and starting the motors by pressing the auto takeoff button and let’s try. The camera got a little bit of a breeze today, but let’s take it up higher and just show you around the area: okay, increasing the rate to fight the wind there’s a little bit of wind going up higher. Now you know again: don’t expect the greatest camera here, we’re flying with wi fi for one thing and uh wi fi is just not the best for a recording video, so don’t expect cinematic video from this particular drone. You’Re, not gon na get it i’m going up. The street a bit here and let the wind blow it back showing in the area and noticing lag and frame, dropping so for the remainder of this, you know just giving you a limited view of what the camera looks like on this. Coming down a little lower, see if i can get in the picture here, putting it toward me and that is its camera, just showing you working okay for the remainder of the flight, let’s see how it flies outdoors, going to higher rate third rate, and we have A little bit of a win, not super punchy in this win, so as an outdoor flyer, i don’t know trying to fight the wind just isn’t happening, so mainly you know.

I got the prop guards off as you see here, and this breeze is only about. I don’t know five miles an hour, five to seven miles an hour, we’ll go downwind and let it bring back again coming back again as for flying this fpv. Well, the camera angle is a little bit low, so i’m. Looking at a lot of ground here, let me get in the picture here and say how you like my brown jacket today, folks but yeah it’s, not really an outdoor flower, mainly for indoor flying let’s, do some flips with this thing by the way i’ve learned how To fly headless mode with it, and to do that, you press this right into this right, throttle stick here and now that’s the forward direction that’s the back. This is the right right and forward and coming out of headless mode now flying normal again so we’ll take it down the street go up a bit higher, although the wi fi tends to break that, we got relatively short, wi fi on this because it’s a 2.4 Gigahertz flyer and coming around so yeah outdoors, not so much not so much of a good flyer outdoors, especially if there’s any wind at all – and i just got a little bit of a breeze here but indoors, yeah it’s, a nice beginner’s drone coming around going overhead. Now, if there’s, no one at all, you know this – you check your gutters with this i’m, pretty sure right now, it’s just let’s stay over my yard.

Now, for the remainder now i’m, not going to take it up too high just about there is fine, because if i go up too high, it might be greater wind than this can actually fight. We’Ll. Take it up right about there that’s about the max height i’m. Going to take it and flying overhead coming down right, okay, let’s, try those other features of this. Now i want to do a hand toss again. I like that particular feature with this beginner’s drum let’s. Try it out hand launching it, throw and go. They call it or toss head toss, so all i need to do is toss it and it flies, and the wind has taken it when you fly it that that way, um it automatically defaults to uh lower rate. So i had a hard time fighting the wind at that lower rate let’s. Try that again, i’m going to come back again, i’ll, add it and we’re gon na go down our upwind a bit. So i can fight that wind in case i need to, and there we go hand launch with this little beginner’s drone, so we’re just going to fly around the area. It is fun but again it’s a toy and you’re gon na expect a toy something to size. In this price range, so that’s it outdoors again mainly indoor flyer for beginner, pilots still has power to flip and the wind is stopped. So i can do this now going up higher and here comes the wind back again.

So down we come so i just wanted to show you outdoors. We know what the flight time is so that’s that’s its ability, outdoors, um, good beginners drone, but more more of an indoor flying drone any wind at all, and it really has a hard time fighting it. So let’s call it quits right there, folks so that’s. The hs340 hope you enjoyed this fight. This is quadcopter101 signing out hi quadcopter101 here again hey.
