Además, all the tourist stuff, like the harbour bridge and the opera house, is that sydney has a lot of really photogenic oceanside pools. So this video is going to be more of a documentary, pov style video, where i just take you guys with me trying to photograph some of the best ocean pools that sydney has to offer. So i guess the ironic thing about starting a series where i’m going to be taking you guys on a day of photography, is that the first video this video, that i’m making isn’t actually going to be one day, it’s going to be spent across multiple days and There’S, a really good reason for that, which i’ll explain a little bit later i’m going to get packed up now, because it’s going to be an early start tomorrow, it’s going to be sunrise – and i really don’t want to have to be packing these bags in the Dark this is my big rolling bag. It has all of my equipment in it. I literally just brought it with me on this trip, because i didn’t know what kind of gear i was going to bring and then i’m going to pack it into my small bag and i’ve also got a drone here. So this is the mavic mini 2, which i will talk about a little bit later: Música, así que la música, es, pretty awesome weather this morning. I think it’s going to be a pretty cool sunrise so about to launch the drone up and get some shots.
So the actual pool itself is just below this cliff face, and i think this is a perfect spot to launch a drone because there’s not too many people, as opposed to doing it down on the beach and i’ll put up the location for you guys. So you know exactly where this is as well on the map Music, so one tip if you’re, shooting seascapes water ocean. Anything like that you’re going to get the most color out of the water when the sun is shining directly on it so mid morning, mid afternoon is going to be when you’re going to get the most color in the water. So right now the sun has come up, but it’s dipped behind some clouds sitting on the horizon and so it’s looking kind of dull. I think when we’ve got more direct sunlight on the pool, it’s going to look a little bit better, all right now that the sun is up time to send it over to this rockpool we’ve also got tk he’s flying the mavic 2 pro hey man dude. I don’t know if we’re going to collide – or i have no idea where you are – i think i’m somewhere up here, i’ll win yeah, definitely i’ll get up there’s, quite a few people in the pool which is cool sometimes at high tide. You can get some of this water washing over into the pool which can make for a really interesting frame but it’s pretty low tide right now.
So i don’t think we’re gon na get any of that i’m gon na try and go up a bit higher and get like a shot of the city and the beach at the same frame that might be kind of cool. Do you ever do this like? Where you you like pan up – and you get like that and then pan down – and you get like that and then you just stitch them Music, actually yeah i’m, going to land before the sun comes back another battery Music. I froth it Music, Muy bien! Just waiting for these surfers to get a wave, hopefully we might get a decent shot. Oh that’s sick. This will be it. Surely, surely, Music Music all right come on home, so that was the bronte rock pool. I think we got some pretty good photos actually between tk and i not bad, Bien. Así que ahora, we’re gon na head off to the iconic bondi, so we’ll see you over there. So this next location is definitely the most famous and the most photographed rock pool in all of sydney. Es, Claro, bondo beach, so this is the only one of the rock pools that i won’t shoot with the drone it’s a little bit messy in terms of composition, there’s some buildings around i’ll probably just end up taking a few photos on my r6. Usually you can get a really cool shot here when the wave hits that brake wall it’s a little bit better at high tide.
I think it’s also not the best lighting right now, it’s a little bit harsh the sun’s up a bit. I think it’s around nine o’clock, so it’s been a couple of hours since the sun’s been up now honestly love the 20mm 1.4 such a good lens. Honestamente, i feel like i can get better shots with a different perspective here. I think the white is just like it takes too much of the scene. I think i’m gon na switch it up and go with the 85 just get a bit of a different perspective, Música, Muy bien, so that pretty much wraps up the first day of shooting bronte bondi tomorrow i’m going to be heading up, north curl, curl and monavale Rock pools i’ve already shot monavale once before. So i kind of have an idea of what i’m going to do there, but the rest is a mystery. So the next time i see you guys will be tomorrow, Music morning, Música, easy Music, so i’ve just arrived at monaval. Beach had a bit of an issue this morning. So when i woke up, i realized that it is the end of daylight savings today, which means that everyone puts their clocks back an hour, which means that the sun rises an hour earlier than it was yesterday so um. Básicamente, i missed the sunrise. Um it’s still pretty early morning, i mean i’m about an hour late. So i have missed that perfect window of time when the sun is just coming over the horizon, but it is a beautiful morning.
There is barely any clouds in the sky, so i’m still going to try and get some really. Nice photos super easy to find it’s just monavale beach. The rock pool is right. There you can’t, miss it Music i’m, going to do more of like a panorama shot. Así que estoy, going to start by taking a photo here and the camera down Music, try and stitch those together last signal there for a second it’s, a bit scary, all right here we go take a couple of this angle: Música, actually really like that Music, because you Can’T roll the camera and do portrait mode you kind of have to you know, figure out what the frame is going to be like just by tilting the phone like that i’m gon na go and try and get some shots of these surfers down here, because it’s Really cool, i really like the way that yellow board looks in the water contrasted with the green Music it’s, really nice Music. Muy bien! I think it’s time to bring it in Music to get to this rock pool it’s a little bit of a bush walk there’s like a little track back there. Sin embargo, i sort of just got like halfway and i was like screw it. I found this like little rock outcrop and it’s. Actually a really awesome view of the beach. You can see the rock pool from here as well so i’m just going to launch the drone from here.
Probably no use walking all the way out there. Unless i want to go for a swim but yeah, it seems like this is a really nice place like the surf looks amazing. This morning, nice and clean there’s, like kayaks out in the water as well can’t, ask for much more really Music Music Music. So it is day three of sunrise missions and i’ve just arrived at cronulla, and this is yet another rock pool that i haven’t shot yet and thankfully, because i had the right time today, i got here just before the sun came up Music starting to get some Strong wind warnings, which is a bit worrying but should be fine yeah that looks awesome. I was a little bit worried about the tide because it was really low yesterday and i wasn’t sure if i would get those waves sort of crashing into the pool which you can see is happening right now. It’S like that awesome wave there that’s what you want. So pretty sure it is still low tide, oh actually, it might be high tide. Now i don’t know i’m, just gon na increase my exposure a little bit all right, es, looking good i’m gon na check if we’re still screen, recording yeah, damn that looks so cool i’m actually stoked on that that lighting just gon na go up a little bit. Damn that looks sick, Sí, es, Muy bien. Oh look at those birds flying around that’s, so sick, the seagulls just flying through the shot i’m, actually just going to leave it there and just get it like a static video shot for a sec, oh so sick.
Ojala, you guys can see the screen, if not i’m, trying to screen record, but yesterday it didn’t quite work out. Damn that looks so sick, Wow. Estoy. So glad i came here. Oh got those birds seeing strong wind warnings so probably should bring it down a little bit just in case Music. So so, como se puede ver, there’s two different pools there’s one over here that one looks cool too, but i like the symmetry. Oh here we go with the sun again i, like the symmetry of this one Music and the shape just really works. Oh there’s, a sick wave, Venga, sí, that’s mad, oh it’s, a massive wave! Realmente, this one’s gon na be sick, Estoy. So stoked on this, that is rad all right. We’Re gon na go for one more shot. Thinking i’m going to use more of the sensor by turning vertically like this okay. I think i’m done i’m kind of sketched out about this wind warning so i’m, just gon na bring it down all right. So overall, across the three days, i think i got some fairly good photos. I do wish. The tide was a little bit higher when i was shooting bronte and also especially monavale, because i feel like there was a lot of the rock exposed, whereas the last time i went there, i got a lot more wave action, que es realmente bueno, maybe a little Bit more swell would have been good as well just add a little bit more drama to the photos, but i definitely think sunrise is the move.
You definitely want that. Really nice lighting hitting the pools because in the afternoon it’s just very flat, like i don’t know if you guys saw on the video of today, but when the sun went behind the clouds, it just wasn’t that interesting it wasn’t that dynamic. So i really hope you guys enjoyed the video. I had a lot of fun, making it uh, as you can probably tell i’m, pretty tired after doing three sunrise missions in a row and staying up each night to edit the photos. While i did have fun. I definitely need a nap i wouldn’t say i’m a morning person i don’t hate getting up in the morning, pero estoy. Definitely a late night person so staying up late, editing, i always get caught there, but thank you guys so much for sticking around. I really appreciate it if you have any questions, feel free to hit the comment section down below. I still try to reply to almost everybody down there, pero sí.
