DJI Mavic Air Review – The Drone That Helps You Tell Better Stories
The DJI Mavic Air is clearly an ideal various to the Mavic Professional. However how does it maintain up over seas and on massive productions? Corbyn Tyson covers the professionals and …

Quick note! This is my good friend Corbyn Tyson. I asked him to help me out with this and other videos since he is a drone/gimbal wizard. Sorry for any confusion!!!
As a drone professional for five years, I can't recommend purchasing this drone for serious work.
Well done! And yes, as anxious as it made me to see a new face at first, I think Corbyn did a great job and I look forward to seeing more from both of you!
I bought my Mavic Air for the very same reasons you mention. I travel the world as a corporate video producer, and it's SO much easier to pack the Air than it was my Phantom 3 Advanced. With the Phantom I had to pay for another piece of luggage each direction, plus haul that big Pelican case out into the field if I wanted to shoot anything with the drone (which I recently did in Finland in January … dragging it through the snow. Not fun.) One of the main reasons I started shooting with a DSLR rather than a camcorder was the stealth factor. Dropping into China or Brazil without filming permits can be a hassle, especially if you're trying to sneak around with what is obviously a professional video camera. But with my DSLR I just look like another tourist, even though I'm shooting broadcast quality video. And now I can do the same with my drone. Just drop the Air in my backpack with my Sony A7III and I can literally shoot anything I come across, while drawing the least amount of attention to myself. The size alone (plus the upgrade to 4K when I want it), was worth the $1,000 cost. I've lost connection in cities as well, and that can be nerve wracking. Might have to invest in one of the signal boosters to remedy that. Otherwise I love it!
Thanks Corbyn, nice video. Appreciated the piloting advice as well, as a complete novice contemplating a drone.
Thanks, good thoughts on aerial shooting. Def in the market for the 'air' 🙂
The Background Music Sucks , It hurt my ears
Nice video but please….dont just hold the drone by one of its leg ( 4:04 )…thats puts some serious stress on the structure…and the first suggestion is actually quite bad.
Drone video instruction fail !
damn, Caleb really let himself go these past few months
Hey Caleb, I'm starting to get clients who want facetime guitar lessons. I'd like to do a setup @24p using my gh5 for the call. Do you have any recommendations on how to accomplish this?
Wow!! Great Video!
Its way too over priced Period! ill wait for a chinese knock off. . .
Hei sweet channel ☺ Keep it up!
Great Video. I just wish you did the intro & Outro. We are here for you Caleb and we like your guidance. Even if it is through other people who know more about something. We need your calm voice and happy attitude to bring us through the video. =)
India??
Dude I thought you got hacked! Reminds me of when peoples accounts got hacked on WoW and I'd see their toons running around but it wasnt them! lmao
Obstacle avoidance turns off with programmed modes like boomerang I believe. Just a heads up.
I really agree with you on the "dont look at the drone wile flying" but in my country we need to be always looking at it or have someone looking for us (we must by law always keep the drone in sight and in line of sight)
When you’re app crashes what you going to do , lern too fly with your eyes
Did they not watch it before they uploaded the video the second audio layer is really annoying
Isn't the camera on the phantom 4 pro much better?
Do more of this ??
Hi Corbyn, after reviewing the footage, in terms of just image quality would you say the Mavic Air (at least) matched or was better than PH3 pro? I'm looking at replacing my PH3 4K with this for portability when travelling.
It's great except… 21 mins is a f…ing joke!
Mr pike. You've changed your hair. Lol 🙂
turning off sensors… flying your drone on auto… in the forest… as a drone wizard…
Can you fly the drone without cell service, with using your cell as a monitor?
Lmao the exact same thing happened to myMavic Pro the other day. It collided with a tree in quick shot mode. P.S. Not having a visual line of sight with the UAV is against the law in most countries. Dangerous illegal advice there to fly just monitoring the live video feed.
This guy has valuable knowledge gained from experience with drone cinematography. I think you’ve done a smart thing by having him speak, as opposed to reading off some specs with a couple of test videos thrown in, which is a kind of half baked approach IMHO. Thanks!
