The CHROMA is unrestricted. No NFZ, unlimited height . Glad i found one.
is it noisy ?
AccessAccess Fuck sake if your not that happy with it send it to me. I can't afford one, i seen other reviews on this drone, and people were very happy with it, they loved it ! Maybe you should just enjoy it and be thankful that you can afford it, and stop complaining ! Some people are never happy with what they got !
I have several Blade products and find that the electronic spares are very expensive and prone too easy malfunction. I would rather go for DJI.Saw that the camera goes out of focus when the Chroma moves, a point not too buy this, also lying about the flight time is a breaking point. DJI's camera stays sharp, and flight times are good too excellent.Too me Blade is over priced, cheap chinees made, junk
As a reviewer receiving a complement is very rewarding to me. I would like to take the time to tell you great job on your review. Very nice job sir.
Then the question is,what quad is better in this price range? I thought this Chroma was the best bang for my $600.
Been looking at different quads for photography thank you for the very scientific review.
i am debating getting this (1080) version or a phantom 3 advanced. i can get the chroma for $479 and the phantom for $799.
i had a blade 350 qx3 that went missing after it dropped like a rock and someone stole it before i could get to it.
have you any thoughts between the two in remotes and camera color and contrast?
i heard the phantom does not have the follow me feature like the chroma. thanks
Yes very good review Access! I got my Typhoon 4k, before reading the manual about "no fly zones", and I'm not happy one bit! I can't enable the motors where I live, I'm surrounded by airports! I practice safe flying, but unfortunately it looks like Blade is the only one available that can work around the issue. I also have a Blade 350 QX3, that crashed before the holidays. I have all the parts and a new gimbal, and will re-assemble it today. I'm hoping B&H will return the Typhoon, and maybe trade out for the Chroma. This is really something to consider with the Typhoon, and other brands. It looks as though they may all be mandated soon. I do a lot of camera tweaks, etc at home and do quick flights for checking. If I can't return the Typhoon, I suppose I'll cave in and join one of the clubs with airfields in my area here in Fla. Unfortunately you have to be an AMA member to join such clubs, another $75. I get where they're going with all this, and I really don't object but………they're not keeping the little guys like us in mind with all the restrictions. I suppose we better get used to it, as long as they don't knock on my door and swipe all mine anytime soon! Thanks again for the review, my concern has been crash worthiness with the Chroma, as the 350 is not very durable at all! I must add that Horizon Hobby has been a real pleasure to deal with in the past year or so that I've had the 350! I have a couple of local hobby shops that carry their line also.
WOW, excellent review. Very comprehensive, easy to follow and well detailed. I am not sold on getting this persay as I just began my research but I must say finding your review was awesome. You spent a good deal of time working with your quad, structuring the review and posting this. Many thanks. I HIGHLY recommend that people considering the Chroma watch this!
Thank u so much for posting this review! I haven't found many reviews after months of use with the chroma. Only horror stories which gets very frustrating. I have only a few flights with my chroma 1080p and it's amazing!! I calibrate compass and accelerometer every time I move to a new location. It is extremely stable and dependable. I absolutely love it!!! thank u!
I have to ask…did you get a free review unit from HorizonHobby ?
To do the follow me or tracking mode you need to enable it on the remote before you even get in the air. once set you get in the it at altitude you want then hit the record button and it does its thing from there
What do you think is the better quad copter Chroma 4K CG03 BLH8675 or the Chroma 1080 CG02 BLH8665?
U never experienced gps problems?

I've heard comments from some Chroma owners that say the quad will drop from the sky and crash for no reason. Have you seen this at all? I was planning to get the Chroma over the Phantom 3 until I heard this.
Have you tried the agility and knowledge or stability mode yet? I did call horizon hobby and questioned them about this model compared to the 350 QX3. They said that it has similar flight as the 350 QX3. When using these modes on the QX 3 350 I was able to get very high performance. Top speed has been measured at 55 miles an hour. I have FPV set up on my 350 so that I can fly with goggles and have no latency to speak of.
really good review, very thorough. definitely helped me in deciding on this or a phantom.
I think the 30min flight time came from high altitude because I live in Denver and on a plane I got 4 minutes 30 seconds up here but down in Michigan I got only 3 minutes of flight time while all was same and when i came back to Denver same flight times as before.
Would you recommend this drone or the Phantom 3. Or what other drone do you think would be a good one?
use this link, itll will let you make ajustments to the GeoFence settings.
One thing I heard you mention during your "review" was about changing flight boundaries. I don't yet own a Chroma (bought a 350 QX3 and a Phantom 3 and intending to buy a Chroma as well), but have been researching like there's no tomorrow! For the Blade 350 there is a piece of software (I think they just refer to it as a PC interface). This interface and software apparently also works with the Chroma, but I don't think it's very well documented. You can adjust flight parameters (geo-fence, etc.) on the Blade 350 with this interface. If it does work with the Chroma, they haven't done a very good job of making people aware of it.
