Will this be an actual competitor to the Tiny Whoop micro-drone? I do not know – nevertheless it does fly very properly and has nice specs at a really affordable worth.

Have u made a video when u put the pagoda on it?
Has anyone got experience with the Arris X80? Apparently it has an 8 minute flight time.
Just got one for Christmas. Haven’t got to fly it yet but can’t wait to see how she rips. Does anyone have a battery and charger they would recommend to get to charge multiple batteries at once? I have a 1 cell charger that charges 4 and a ton of batteries for my Qx90c. Now I need one for this. Thanks.
Can I put a Lumenier 450mAh 3s 35c on the babyhawk without changing something?
I dont want to see it just flying. i want to see the limits: rolls, powerloops, dives, this flying you do is not what you do with a mini racer.
Bruce, great review. Was this video on 25mw or 200mw video?
So you have a guard tower at your place? Why do you not fly from there? I would always fly from there and have AA guns up there.
Please show us once you have completed the mods 🙂Eagerly awaiting it.
now comes with 800TVL camera.
It has their Femto F3 controller. Good thing it's not a kit! That 20mm controller board is tough to solder.
FPV is getting cheaper than ever, im trying to convince my friends to look into the baby hawk.
swift micro is 5.6 grams
Has anyone got the PIN outs? Vcc GndCommon Sbus/ibus Please?
You didn't invent micro FPV…
Good review bruce! now to make a choice, babyhawk or the aurora68 http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-Aurora-68-68mm-Mini-5_8G-600TVL-FPV-Racing-Drone-BNF-with-F3-OSD-48CH-25mW-VTX-p-1132680.html?p=T412213768073201602F
your antenna receiver looks like it crossed
You should try it on 3s
This or the Aurora Arfun is better?
Very nice flying micro. Yeah, the video drop out was terrible especially considering how close it was to you. I definitely want to see the FPV video again once you get the CP Antenna installed. Cheers!
wow that climbs so far @[email protected]!!!the tearing in the video recording is terrible :/
Take a look at the stuff FuriosFPV is doing. I'm waiting on parts for my 3D printed Doinker frame and using their Pico BLX flight controller I'm expecting to be able to run a 3S 480mah. That flight controller also has a built-in LC filter.
Actually it is a racing machine. Bf FC and tunable. You just need to race against relatively similar machines.
That camera looks like it will break off in the first unwanted landing thou… But it looks like a fun project to shed some serious weight off.
The FrSky XM/XM+ do not have telemetry. It's only one communication for these micro rx
Have a try with a linear on the quad but a skew planar or cloverleaf on the receiver, you do get a 3dB loss due to cross polarization but flying indoors and close proximity it doesn't really matter. I've personally had great success with this combo, much better than using linear antennas on both.
Oh no Bruce a quad on a Friday? All hells gonna break loose, wheres our fixed wings. XD
How would I go about sending you something to review? My startup has designed and created a new construction set for UAVs, and a system around it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1268831957/open-wing-an-open-source-uav-building-kit/description and I'd love to send you one of the kits, or an airframe built from it, if that makes it easier to evaluate, and see what you think.
hello, if u have plans to do a q7 review in future I noticed that one of my gimbals feels rough below center stick and smooth above (left stick) worried this is a 'quality escape' from ramping up production, issue with a mould (maybe plastic rubbing not sure) thanks.
New regulations Applies immediately in Canada so FPV is not legal anymore. Airspace is so regulated that any RC model is impossible to fly almost anywhere except in very remote locations. Only members of Maac clubs in dedicated fields are permitted if club members accept your membership or allow your type of model (drones or helis). At least models under 250gr are not regulated.
The home built side of the Micro/nano quad hobby have been switching to sleeved dipole lately and many of the videos have been ok. According to Gearbest this only has 5250 kv motors,,,,slow compared to most of what we build with at this size, usually we go with 6500-10,000kv which give much more punch a these 2s voltages.
What a dope…
Sorry for the spam, but Canada just got hit with some serious regulations on drone. I thought you would be interested. Also, someone started a petition if anyone is interested supporting us : https://www.change.org/p/marc-garneau-allow-responsible-hobbyists-to-work-with-transport-canada-to-make-regulations-around-fpv?recruiter=697004642&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
Bruce, could you try this receiver? http://www.banggood.com/Mini-FrSky-8CH-LR1000-Receiver-Long-Range-Compatible-FrSky-X9D-Taranis-Taranis-Plus-XJT-p-1132192.htmlIf it delivers on what it promises, weighing in at 1.5gr, it would a perfect "full range" telemetry enabled frsky receiver for microquads. But it looks too good to be true, so it probably is 🙂
Im not sold on the point of brushless motors for this class of quads. in theory it should give you more power and better efficiency than brushed, but due to the extra weight, in reality it seems to be the opposite as you get substantially less punch-out than I get on my brushed micro quad, and with 450mAH nanotechs, I can fly over 6 minutes. Yes, durability is an issue, I do have to swap motors every few flying hours, but they cost next to nothing. Maybe brushless would make more sense on slightly larger microquads, say 100-110mm so you can use larger props and carry larger batteries? But for this size, I say brushed is the way to go.
Emax should get rid of the big metal screws for the camera, and use nylon ones to save weight, put at least two leds one in front and other in the tail! Bangood has ultra light diy solder on clover antennas that are made with a flat kind of wire. Also I think C rating of 25C is very low.
I think there is something specific going on at your flying field, also two linear antennas. I have 6 of these similar quads only one with cp. Inside and out the linear fpv signal rivals cp. I have them all on my channel if you wish to them check out.
fixed wing friday! wheres the pulse jet model!?
how does one overcome this video problem? My 250 hums actually and this power filter you speak of, i think i need one.
According to Emax, you can upgrade the ESC's on the Babyhawk and make it 4S compatible :p
