BetaFPV Meteor75 Whoop All-In-One Advanced Kit 2 – Volledige Review (Unbox, Inside/Outside Fly, CRASHING)

Dus, basically an all in one kit. You can see here from the box they’re, giving us a transmitter, the drone and the goggles. So i love reviewing these kits because it’s always kind of a hassle if you’re beginning and just starting fpv or you, maybe you want to get a gift for somebody, is, always kind of a hassle and expensive to match up goggles the drone, a controller. Unless you have like hundreds and hundreds of dollars, even up to a thousand or so i think these kind of kits are really the way to go. Dus vandaag, i’m gon na review this whole thing i’m gon na unbox. It uh show you how to set it up charge everything up, try to see how it is flying in and outside the house, so anyway, let’s get started and have some fun Music. Just opening this thing up, it’s just got a sleeve here on the top and then all it is is a white cardboard box and wow look at this. So we get our own case with everything here: dat is, pretty cool nice kind of semi, hard, denim uh case material here with a zipper and a handle here. So that’s very welcome. So take it over to your friend’s house for storing purposes whatever you don’t have to have everything separate there we go. We got some stuff on the top. Little baggie here looks like we have instruction manuals there’s a little kind of a cool little elastic, clip there on the very top, but there it is guys here’s the whole kit we’ll break into this bag in just a second.

I want to see the pretty much the goggles take up. The majority of the box. Let’S take a look at these real, snelle, just a very um kind of a cheap set of goggles, as we can see. Here’S the goggle strap we’re gon na have to put on it, does have a padded little face pad here and that looks like a single kind of fresnel lens box you’re, not getting those kind of dual lenses. If we just kind of look at the top here, we have a channel search a menu. This looks like a speaker cool, so this is neat so check it out. You can record your videos on this because it has an sd card slot. We have a usb port and there’s, actually a headphone port that’s interesting over on the right side, there’s a record button, a channel and a band button here, and then we have a few led lights and there’s a little mini reset paper clip slot there, and this Is where we’re going to put on our antennas so i’m just going to slip these off right there there’s our little connectors so let’s, see just how hard it is to put this strap on should be pretty easy. Het is., just a velcro, strap slide one end and then push it in nice and adjustable for the size of your head. So you can adjust that see how much adjustability we have on that velcro there and then we’re just doing the same thing for the two sides.

So just sliding in like this velcroing it on okay, so we got two things basically left here’s the controller it has the beta fpv branding on it and remember this one is saying: it’s fr sky protocol, so nice and smooth sticks. We have no spring on the throttle which you usually want for fpv racing drones. They feel nice and smooth there’s a power button there, and then we have our switches on the top sb, so that’s a three way sa is a two way. Sc is another three way and then an sd is a two way, so these are great too, because you don’t really need to go into any kind of configuration unless you probably really wanted to and uh. You know like when you get a race drone and you’re setting up all those parameters and making sure with this it’s all ready to fly out of the box, and it should be tuned, hopefully pretty well we’re gon na test, all that out micro usb slot and That looks like something like a headphone jack, pretty interesting flipping it over to the back, looks like there is a battery slot, wow cool, dus dat is, a little 350 mah um it’s like a two cell lithium polymer there’s, the connector there it’s unplugged, so we’re gon na Want to charge this there’s a plug right there. We plug that into loving that that’s great don’t have to mess with any double a batteries, so just clamping that back down and then over on the bottom.

Here we have a setup and bind so for some reason. If your drone isn’t working with the controller, you can go ahead and rebind it that’s about it. A nice comfortable it’s, basically like a game controller, but these sticks do feel really good in the hand they’re really loose and they have a lot of throw since they’re. So high, so you should be able to have some pretty good control. OK, jongens, let’s see here’s the last thing in the box, and this is the drone, so just a little tiny, like brushless whoop style. These are brushless motors let’s. Just let me just show you the inside of this. This is some real nice quality foam. You can see how everything is molded really well so that’s. Definitely a quality case there to hold everything. Laten we, take a little bit of a closer look at the drone here and then we’ll move on and look at this baggie and some of the directions here: 1800 kv and they’re 1102 size motors, so tiny little brushless motors. You can see how the wire comes back. They’Re plugged in right here in the flight controller, all four of them there is our battery connector, so now it’s a little bit of a different connector than that connector that i was um showing you from the controller battery over here hanging out the back. We have the little uh fpv video transmitter antenna coming out a little dipole antenna up there.

These propellers are pretty cool, pretty wild. Looking a lot of uh bite there. It looks like three bladed propellers looks like this one’s gon na be pretty fun there’s, where we’re gon na slide our battery in the bottom. So not a whole lot to look at the drone is pretty simple, but as long as it works good, we get good video there’s the camera. As long as we get good video and everything works. Great has enough power and control is good and has good range. Then i’m happy okay, so here’s that little bag it’s just a nice little kind of see through uh mesh bag and i’m just gon na empty all this stuff out. Oke, we’ll go through it one by one, dus ik ben, assuming these are like extra propellers. So these are just um push on propellers. There are no screws to go with it. I just noticed that if you kind of look at the propellers on the drone here, you can see that there are actually no screws in here it’s just pushing on the uh. The shaft of the motor – so you just want to push that on nice and tight and that’s, actually why they give us this tool. This is a propeller tool right here, so this is how you’re gon na kind of pry the propellers off without damaging them, and then we have two batteries. Awesome: Twee 450 mah batteries, uh let’s, see what some of the specs are on them: 30, 60 c.

They’Re. 1.71 watt hour 4.35 volts wow. So this is a high voltage 1s drone. So i thought it was going to be 2s, but hopefully that gives us enough power. We have those little micro connectors there that are going to plug right in and let me just show you how these kind of go into it before we start powering it up and flying. So you can see how these guys just push right in here. Very simple. Just like other drones and that’s in there pretty solid, so it’s not going to really get dislodged unless you crash or hit it really hard, then all you need to do is uh plug this right in right there and ready to go last couple of things. We’Ve got a little baggie here, so you see those antennas there they’re just gon na slip and screw right on to kind of have it in the background here, but they just screw right on these connectors. Here we go that looks like our charger. So a simple little usb charger we can just plug into any usb socket or our computer it’s got a little display, dat is, really cool output, one tester and output two looks like if we want to test it: we’re gon na plug into output, one that says tester As well, so if i plug in there, you can see the voltage pop up, that’s awesome, so a quick little voltage tester when you’re not charging your battery and when you’re charging your batteries.

Hopefully you can put in uh two batteries at once. We need to talk about this uh usb cable, so here it is. We have a usb type, a on one end, usb little micro d shape on the other end and you’re gon na need this one to charge your goggles that’s a little bit awkward it’s a little bit hard to get in there, but it does. You can see how that cable is kind of bending down i’d, really be careful with this, because you do not want to like break that there so just make sure your cable is bent before you plug in and then you’re going to plug the other end, like Computer or usb wall adapter, zoals jij, use for your phones to charge this as well, so guys, Geloof ik, that’s just about it really. The last thing i want to go through is what we get as far as documentation, Oke. Goed, there we go at least we get a whole diagram of what’s on top of the goggles there. So you can see what all the buttons are gives you a quick description of what the control sticks do for the drone and what the led status reasons and solutions are. It looks like this flight controller they’re, calling the meteor 75 Zoiets, tells you how to bind it and stuff. If you need to the switches now what the heck do. These switches do so, Helaas, there’s no documentation on actually what the switches do on the controller.

So i guess we’re gon na have to find that out when we’re flying or i guess you can also scan this qr code and it takes you to that beta fpv site for a little bit more uh in depth direction so anyway, guys i’m gon na charge. These batteries up i’ve got these two batteries to charge up. Remember i’ve also got this battery to charge up so we’re gon na plug it into the controller there get. This back on, looks like we’re going to have to use that cable. That came with it to also charge the controller, so this cable here charges the goggles and the controller. This charger here charges the batteries for the drone anyway, so let’s charge all this stuff up and let’s get flying so i’m hitting menu. Now and those are all your menu options, so you have brightness contrast: color sharpness, backlight volume, resize or record size record sound, pretty interesting, let’s see what happens with these switches. Oke, cool! Goed, you see that up there, it says turtle, so it looks like there’s a turtle mode. So if you go upside down, you can flip it back up if you’re like crashed on the ground, so maybe we’ll try that the top right switch there. We gaan. Oke, there’s our our race mode, so it looks like on the bottom right. You can see that race h changing as i push this switch all the way down. It goes to horizon and then there’s level, so we’re gon na have to deal with these two switches.

Here so i’m gon na have this switch here down to the bottom, and this one also down to the bottom, looks like you kind of want to have them all down to the bottom. Unless you’re doing acro mode there, we go there’s acro. That kind of came up on the bottom right too, so you don’t have to get used to these switches. Remember it’s a little bit confusing at first, because they don’t really tell you in the instructions so kind of disappointing there. Then we have our voltage on the bottom left, so i only have 4.05 volts left so let’s arm it now now let’s see what’s up there. We go so now we’re kind of at self leveling, and i want to go out this door here. Whoa there we go okay, so you see how i had the um. I have my little boogie board kind of set up it’s in the evening time, so this might get a little bit hairy, but um wow yeah. So these goggles man whoa um. Oke. This is a little sketch wow. You see how i went over on the other side of the house, so really no good there. I almost lost it in the neighbor’s yard, so i’m gon na come back. I had all this stuff set up for this right here. You see all these little gates, but it might be kind of hard to do this, but stay tuned in guys because i’m going to try to set these up and i’m going to do like a little nighttime thing.

Maar zoals je zien, you see that the goggle um is not that great. When i go on the other side of the house, so this is really only going to kind of really be guys an indoor flyer, because look at that. I almost crashed in the trees already because i totally cut out so not that great for any kind of um around the house flying man it’s like really like you almost have to just be flying inside your house, so let’s. Try that i haven’t flown fpv for a while there’s that boogie board, so our new little cat doesn’t get out let’s just try. This let’s stay in the house: hey what’s up how you guys doing here’s my little messy house, we zijn, just gon na give it a try, Hoewel, and just try to fly around. You know really gently here. This is kind of like in the easiest mode and let’s. Just try to circle around here go upstairs, Zie, we’re already getting that kind of lines and break up, but you see how this thing can kind of just like bounce all over the place, so not too shabby on um hitting walls and stuff. Oh i just there. We gaan, i just hit the just hit the floor there should i go under the table. Oh oh remember, disarm is just that switch down here, all the way and that’ll disarm it. So if we crash you can kind of reset everything so really just kind of disappointing the behind the house reception on the fpv so i’m going to try to push this thing up.

Originally, it kind of came like this, and i bent this down, but now i’m going to try to push this antenna up, so it kind of holds its shape up. Maybe that’ll give us a better signal around the back of the house, but that was super scary. Like i almost lost it because it was so high and all the heck all the way over there, the control signal, Geen probleem, like the signal of the controller, no issues whatsoever, is, just these fpv goggles, so let’s try this again. So you see how this switch on the bottom right. It says level i’m gon na go into horizon, so maybe i can do some flips and stuff we’re already getting low on our voltage, so we’re going to have to put another battery pretty soon let’s see what it kind of does. If we get into a low voltage state there, she is little lulu, Hey, oh crap she’s, like what the hell’s that she doesn’t know what to do boy i can’t get out of this rug. There we go like once it tilts. It just wants to grab the rug. Oke, let’s try to get out this door there. We go so now that we have the antenna up, Laten we, see if it’s any, but any better. I may very well um jeez, see how you can like just hit stuff like that. Come on stay in reception, Oke, putting the antenna up, don’t speak too soon.

It feels like it really improved it. You see that now i can actually kind of see not really ready to go through all this stuff, yet there’s a pool that doesn’t have any water in it. Oke, low voltage came up on the screen. I want to come right back in oh i’m out i’m on the ground and i have no more throttle so let’s go, get that put in a new battery and maybe we’ll have some some better luck. Okay guys so the good thing was is, even though this was still plugged in when i pick it up in the grass um. The whole drone was off. So apparently i had some kind of low voltage shut off, so you’re not going to ruin these batteries. So that’s really great battery is just slightly warm, not hot at all, so no problem with the battery there, so here’s the other, fully charged. One let’s put this thing in see how maybe, if we have a little bit of better luck, uh since we’ve kind of figured this thing out now. Goed, these are the kind of like the growing pains you’re gon na have to go through. Like i saying i haven’t flown fpv in a long time, so um of course, i’m a little bit out of practice, but um just stuff you’re gon na need to do and that’s what this one’s totally main made for is just really practicing around the house. To get the feel for it right or you’re, just racing, your friends in the house and stuff: Oke, guys let’s, try this again outside i wanted to get outside kind of.

In an area of my yard, that’s um, you know kind of uh more of an open space because you kind of saw how it did through the house from inside the house going outside, not too great for that with its vtx it’s video transmitter. So let’s just try this let’s just leave it in level mode, let’s launch just armed it here, oh and let’s just see like what we can do and how it kind of feels in the yard. Here i set up some of these um gates here. That i’m also going to kind of do some night flying into, but i just wanted to see: whoa there’s some wind coming from my back now so there’s like a few miles per hour from the rear right. So we got to be careful here. Whoa there we go there’s one again, a little rusty right, houd in gedachten, so this is probably going to be kind of funny, but um let’s just give it a try whoa. Now the wind is going to really influence it. Breeze has kind of come up just pushing it forward. Whoa there goes the shed all right come on. You can kind of see the wind blowing the gates, man just having a heck of a time. Natuurlijk, i had to launch right when the wind kind of came up right, let’s spin around here, so you can see if you have like a good line of sight, the fpv is totally fine.

It seems because i’m having like no problems now with the with the video signal there, we go let’s get going here. So just really touchy on the throttle. You can see how i’m kind of going up and down pretty easily whoa. So it looks like the throttle. Is really going to be quite touchy on this thing, especially when you have some wind kind of saved it there yeah man see, Hoewel, so you can see the palm tree kind of blowing earlier man. It was just so so so still it’s been super dry. Hier. Sorry about the yard um – oh this – that one but it’s pretty resilient. I mean you can see how it’s super resilient to crashing and stuff all right. Let’S just fly kind of fast here, one with the wind it’s gon na go against the wind. Now the wind’s. Just really kind of blowing those gates down. Oh mens, i am just so rusty so that i’ve got a i’ve got a disarm. Did you see that i just got kind of stuck and now here’s, where we’re going to go into our turtle mode, so turtle, mode’s kind of funny it’s like you, just have to start clicking these top three buttons seem like the two rights have to be up And then the the left top have to be down and you can see how we have turtle there and then we can arm it there. We go okay, so again doing that kind of stuff is probably going to chew up your propellers a little bit so we’re going to arm again.

Here we go oh boy, i think i’m, probably just chewing up gravel. So let me go get this let’s reset here. We go so yeah definitely want to be careful in dirt, because i was kind of flipped over in the dirt trying to bring it back back up, and it feels like this propeller right here. It kind of got a little bit of a grid in it. So i just was blowing in it while i was spinning it and it seems to have uh gotten out so again just got to kind of readjust your battery right in the center. If you crash let’s try it again, i got two batteries charged up, so we’ll do two flights here in this daylight outside session let’s, just kind of keep going yeah still flying fine. You know there was some gravel in there, but um still a okay aside from this wind. Coming from the back. So remember, man, dat is, really gon na influence your flying. Daar gaan we. Oh almost had that there we go it’s like on the very edge with, if there’s, any kind of wind that’s, just how it’s going to be with these little ones. There we go hey well, dat is, my little seating arrangement here, Whoa, Natuurlijk, we’re hitting ourselves just having fun and let’s just try this again boy 20th times the charm right, Laten we, just keep going. All you got. Ta, do is disarm re arm when you’re ready and keep on flying right, Ja.

Dus ik ben.. Really sorry about this crazy flying, but the wind i’ll have i’ll put some clips up. I mean you know you can take your time and just really learn how to fly. Fpv but i’ll try to put some clips up where i’m flying a little better when there’s not as much wind there we go around the back whew. Oh, that was right into that fence, pretty hard with that key all right, so we’re in the grass let’s try! This uh turtle, dus het is, zoals jij, got to flip these switches all the way up this one down, and then we got ta arm and flick to the right or left there. We go and then disarm and flip it all backwards to get back into level and re arm like nothing even happened to it all right, so you know you don’t have to do gates. You don’t, want to just fly around your house like this. Have some fun, Natuurlijk, remember going through the house watch if i go around this side see how the fpv starts to get almost non visible, it’s just going through the house. There oh low voltage i’m gon na come on in try to land it right in front of us and disarm all right pop in a new battery. Let’S get maybe a little more aggressive fly a little faster and see what we can do: Muziek, Oke, Muziek, Muziek. Dus, Muziek, Muziek, Muziek, foreign, Muziek, Muziek, dus Muziek, Muziek, Muziek, Muziek, Muziek, Muziek, dus Muziek, dus Muziek, Muziek, dus Muziek, Oke, jongens! So what do we think about the little beta fpv whoop, advanced kit? Cool thing is for around two hundred dollars: you’re getting goggles that can record you’re getting a a little mini, whoop type drone that has brushless motors, pretty powerful, can do flips can do from basic to advanced modes.

That’S. Pretty awesome main thing for me: was the video transmitter right that wasn’t so great, especially in my area, you got to push it up like this, get a little bit better signal, maar, zoals je zien, you’re flying through things around your house through walls, not the Best man, i really wish um that was a little bit better. You also get the controller, a great controller and they say in the instructions you can actually it’s funny that they state you can plug this in and use this as like a computer controller. If you want to so, if you wanted to use this as a gaming controller on your computer, U. The controller is probably one of the best parts of the combo and, Natuurlijk, you’re getting all this for under 200 Herinneren. This is kind of a little beginner thing, so this beginner kit, so advanced users, aren’t, going to want these types of goggles they’re, going to want better goggles like fat, sharks or elmways, of zoiets – and this is also analog. This is not digital, like the digital fpv like dji and stuff, has now so you’re, not getting that uh really clean video signal and the range that you would get on those more advanced fpv. So this is pretty basic as far as the fpv goes and that’s. Waarschijnlijk, if you can’t tell by now the most lacking part of this kit is just the the video quality, the vtx output’s, probably very low, probably like 25 milliwatt it’s, more made for being like, maybe in an open warehouse area in your house with like in one Room, maybe if you have a big living room and just kind of putting up some obstacles and flying through them like that and stuff or if you’re outside, and you really have uh.

No interference from you know physical structures and stuff, and you set up a little course outside, but of course outside you do not want to have any wind with this one, maybe a little bit. It was only a few miles per hour and you can see how uh, when i was facing it that way towards my vehicles going around the house. Op deze manier, just that little bit of wind, when i was coming in the door, would blow it like this, and i really had to push hard on the stick to take it right because uh these propeller protectors, right here and the whole actually that’s the whole frame. These really um have a lot of wing wind drag so that’s going to push it around a lot if there’s any wind, otherwise kind of a fun little kit, another one you might want to look at it – has that cool case that comes with it. Everything’S included, of course you can get extra batteries. Als je wilt, Natuurlijk, that first flight, i was using a lot of power just kind of configuring all it all so expect to do that on your first battery. So you might want to get a few more of these batteries again guys i’ll have the links down the description of where you can get all this stuff and the gear i use for all my videos. So all in all, i can see getting this for a beginner fpv or just somebody that wants it as like to give it as a gift or something all these products are very cheap and that’s.

Why it’s falling under around 200? So if you’re, Oke, with having kind of like not the best of everything, just kind of stuff that works okay, especially that fpv signal for flying at distance, then this might be something for you to look at. You know um because of the cost and uh, because because it is so basic and easy to set up again that big con was man. Why not let us know in instructions what these switches do? Why did we have to kind of find that out on our own, even though i went to the website, there was no talk of these switches, so something maybe they can improve as always that’s.
