Purchase Mavic Air: http://amzn.to/2EfgRZl The #MavicAir is the very best small 4K drone in the marketplace proper now. The Mavic Air incorporates a three axis gimbal, a 4K digicam, …

Excellent review. The interference with the WiFi does worry me since in my area, I have noticed with my P4Pro when I am around a more built up area, I have enough interference that my video feed is disrupted but not the actual video that is being recorded.
Do you think it is up to professional quality standards? As I mentioned I am currently using a 2 years old P4Pro with great success for real estate video and stills. But I record at 2.7 k. Does this bird allow for that?
I use strobes top and bottom on my P5Pro both so other air users can see it and so I can see it better in line of sight myself. Does the Mavic Air have enough body space to stick on on top and bottom?
I am mainly interested in this a 1. a back up in case anything drastic happens to my P4Pro on a shoot so I can finish shooting with video and stills that will tie in with the video I have taken with the P4Pro. 2. I tend to fly low and through trees since so many of the houses I shoot are hidden by trees. Will the Air avoid all those little branches the love to snag drones?
On that same last topic, I have a feeling that this little guy would be best as a main drone for in town small properties. We have all our utilities in town strung from utility poles with a spaghetti of power lines and cable lines that I currently have to fly through or hover near to get my shots. Does the Air detect and avoid such think cables?
Sorry to bombard you with questions, but before I buy, I do want to have a pretty good idea of whether this will work for me or not. Otherwise I am thinking of the Mavic Pro 2 with Hasselblad but it would cost almost twice as much. Big investments for not a lot of demand in my small market.
The Spark is the quietest, the smallest and the stealthiest of the DJI lineup. I use it successfully over multi-family housing units where I especially desire not to attract attention.

Mine goes way more than one mile
That's the only thing the mavic air is good for Open fields where there's no interference at all DJI uses Wi-Fi instead of using ocusync unbelievable
Don't buy the mavic air I bought one yesterday and returned it today third flight Auto takeoff lost signal drone came straight down luckily no damage next flight 900 feet out video lagging I couldn't believe it the camera is spectacular the Drone is nice it's just the crappy Wi-Fi instead of ocusync what could have been a nice drone has too many signal issues and I'm talking brand spanking new drone all updates completed still having issues so packed it up send it back for a full refund hopefully DJI makes mavic Air 2 and uses ocusync 2 it would be one kickass drone I do own the mavic 2 zoom the Drone is number one in my book but I just wanted something to mess around with in the backyard with not thinking I would have that many problems and I'm talking 900 feet that's ridiculous I own a hubsan drone $250 never had any signal issues in my yard and that's a cheap drone no lagging issues at 900 feet shame on you DJI
Enjoyed your review. Very result oriented instead of just going through all the specs, like many other reviews. I am about to get myself a Mavic Air, and I was just wondering about the tracking mode. All reviews I've seen, including yours, show off the tracking mode while moving away from the drone. But does it work the other way around? I mean the subject moving towards the drone while the drone backs up to keep a set distance. Sort of like a reporter walking towards the camera while talking about something. Of course the noise might be an issue, but maybe noise removal software are available of removing the drone noise. It is pretty static.
Sorry but on one should be flying further then 500 meters, people who do that are one of the reasons our sport is becoming more regulated.
Very much appreciated pointing out the custom Wi-Fi settings. I've watched dozens of videos on the Mavic Air and you're the only one that has shown the channel selection screen. Being aware of the congested channels will/would've helped people having range issues.
The Mavic Air is extremely over rated by dji in terms of its range. As is the Mavic pro…but at least the pro will go out a mile or more depending on conditions.)…I suspect the Air is limited to a quarter of that OR LESS….which makes it a good drone for those compelled to to fly within visual range.
Great vision of Raby Bay, Wello Point & Capalaba… 🙂
Dude, how did you get the lights on the props on the MA? Awesome looking!
Hi. I'm sorry my English. I have no idea about drones but I would love to know if whith this dji drones you can record a video like the one I'm going to describe.
Some old flies through a canyon with real planes has the camera like… lock to the plane. But the videos made with drones I've seen haven't this kind of movement. I mean, the horizon is always aligned.
Can this and the rest of dji drones lock this correction to get this kind of curve of motion…I really don't know how to named this even in my own language I have no idea. Do you know what I mean? I would share a video as example but I can't find anything. I don't know how to find this kind of fly but is the most common POV in movies where a plane follows another one through a narrow canyon. Thanks.
I’d love to get a mavic pro but it’s just way too heavy. Wish they could get it down to less than 500 grams
Hi. Nice video. If you want to buy now, will be an air or pro after 6 months with air?
I noticed you don't use a landing pad when taking off or landing in dirt. Are you worried about dirt getting into the mechanisms of the Mavic Air. I just bought mine a few weeks ago and I have been worried about that.
All good 🙂 keep up your awesome videos!
Better waiting for Mavic Pro 2 / Zoom, that's for sure 😉
I have the mavic Air for five months and I cannot complain. It’s a perfect drone! I’m making with it a lot of videos and it never let me down… 😉
Great video mate really want to get one of these but want to wait for the mavic 2 pro now. And whats with all the thumbs down?
Nice review Dan??
I agree with every thing you say about the Mavic Air. I got one when they first came out and I fly it all the time and I have never had any trouble with it.It always amazes me what it can do! Good video.
Dji customer service sucks. Their updates are glitchy crap. The geo fencing is a ridiculous pain in the ass and I'm done with dealing with all of it. Autel evo will be my next drone.
I have just launched a drone inspired clothing line: Eye In The Sky Clothing (#eyeintheskyclothing). Grab yourself some FRESH merch here: https://teespring.com/stores/eyeintheskyclothing ??
