I don’t really have time in one day to play every single new thing here. I do plan on streaming this throughout the week. So if you want to stay tuned for that, subscribe hit the bell icon and you can come and chat with me and we can talk while i uh experience more of this content, but let’s give my sort of pros and cons initial impressions about this new update. As it stands right now to encourage me to do a full review of this once i have experienced all of the content, please like the video that really helps me out and lets me know. You want to see more and now let’s talk about this i’ve had multiple crashes and soft locks on xbox same with my other friends as well. My other friends are playing on xbox one x’s i’m playing on an xbox series x and yeah. My game continues to crash now. I did hard reset my xbox not really reset restart. I you know fully powered it off unplugged it held the power button plugged it back in turned it on and yeah that did seem to fix it, but i’m, not entirely certain. The weirdest thing about this, though, is that red dead online runs on dedicated servers and my friend my girlfriend, and i all had the same exact style crash where the game locks repeats the same sound over and over again and then just dies. All three of us experience the same crash at the same moment despite the game running on a dedicated server and all of us doing different things at the time.
It’S happened once while i was customizing my character and another time when i was just randomly shooting double action: revolvers in the air they’re, both using a different console than i am, and one of my friends is in a different part of the country. So it’s not anything to do with my house or like a power problem or anything like that. The game just died for all three of us, almost like our posse crashed, thus crashing the game and returning us to our dashboards. Very strange also there’s an annoying thing where, while the mpcs for the blood money dlc are talking, you can’t accept a mission from what i noticed, even when they’re not talking about things that are relevant, they’re, just sort of doing their voice lines that they do. When you’re near them, i can’t activate missions. Now, maybe that was a one or two time thing and i’m making a big deal of it, but it was kind of annoying also when we were doing the train robbery uh the ladder on the train. That would allow us to actually progress forward broke for two out of the three of us, so my friend and i couldn’t, but my girlfriend could use the latter and that’s very strange. I also had a couple of interesting little problems where i couldn’t jump over certain objects. My character would just slow down and move. You know really slow as if he’s in a cut scene.
So little glitches like this, i expect from updates i’ve played enough video games to know that yeah when you update the game – and you add a bunch of new content, especially with a game like this you’re gon na get bugs but it’s frustrating, then the less. Even though i understand it, i give them a little bit of wiggle room on this it’s still unacceptable. I mean it’s, obviously not supposed to be there, and i hope they fix that. Knowing that bugs happen, doesn’t make them any less frustrating, but they do happen. They’Re not specific to rockstar games or any of our favorite games. Staying with the negative trend here, which i’m sorry i know a lot of you might have subscribed because i’m not on red dead, but i have some negative things to say here. The quick draw pass is good, not great. I really don’t care about most of what’s in the quick draw pass. In fact, i don’t see myself using much of anything from the quick draw pass and then, in the three part missions the contract missions, where you do three missions to complete them. Um the cooldown is far too long like we did one out of three missions and the cooldown was 40 minutes like 37 minute cooldown. After doing one part now, maybe that’s, because i did other missions earlier in the day, but having a cool down on a multi part mission, i can’t say i’ve ever seen that before now i know they want server time, and i know they want people to play.
The game but tell me to do part one then go preoccupy myself with something else. Come back. Do part two preoccupy myself with something else and then come back for part three that’s dumb, not a fan of that at all for the three step contract missions. Also, why no blood money challenges there needs to be a section where there are three challenges you can do for blood money. I don’t want blood money challenges to just be mixed in under the standard. I would like them to have their own category, because currently i get a quarter of a gold bar for every challenge completed. I had to like stop playing the new content and go: do bounty, hunting stuff again more bounty hunting stuff. In order to keep my gold up, i couldn’t like progress and get enough gold just by doing blood money, so it’s kind of weird to add new content, but then not add daily challenges to complete with it. So i really hope they add a daily challenge section for blood money. Now, overall, i love this update. I mean not the bugs because who would but i do love the new stuff. I was enjoying the game anyway, and this is all just a bonus. I absolutely adore what they’ve added here, because it’s a bunch of new missions, and now some are kind of lame, like one of the missions was just go, kill some guys guarding a wagon, take the wagon and take it to a drop off spot, which is essentially Just a glorified stranger mission i’ll get to that in a second but robbing the homestead was actually pretty fun, kill everyone around the homestead and then it gets reported to the law.
The law came and looked for me. I hid from them and then, when they left, i looked for clues. It led me on a pathway to go to blackwater and intercept the homestead owner, and then i found them mauled by uh, big cats, and then the big cats came and tried to kill me. I killed the big cats and then i take the stuff to the drop off point. It’S, not the most innovative amazing thing in the world, but i actually enjoyed doing it. So not bad it’s not bad to have this kind of content added to the game, because then you have stranger missions and bounties and legendary hunts and of course, legendary bounties. All of the dynamic things that happen like dynamic, bounties or roadblocks or poachers or whatever you might come across, then you have the people in need, and now you have all this blood money, stuff and that’s, not bad. Adding missions is good and it’s exactly as described rockstar said we’re gon na be adding missions that you can complete with no entry fee complete the missions earn capital, and then you take the capital and you spend it on the opportunity and the opportunity has a larger Payout, like i got .24 gold bars and 130 bucks for robbing a train with my friends and that was kind of enjoyable that was on the easiest difficulty. Maybe the higher difficulties are a bit more worth it, but either way it was fun.
So adding missions isn’t bad and that’s what the update promised to do i’m kind of glad that it’s not a role and i’m glad that it’s something that any player can load up the game and just go, do you can just go? Do these missions grind them out? Yeah they’re, like stranger missions, but stranger missions. In case you haven’t, noticed, are kind of like video game missions. You go to a person, they tell you what to do. You do the thing whether it’s kill people go, grab an item and bring it back. You know bring a person back escort somebody doesn’t matter. I don’t really care missions and video games are missions so boiling this down to just more stranger missions. When really, what you’re saying is rockstar added a bunch of new missions for free – and i i don’t feel, like i’m – being overly positive by saying that, because what i’m saying is that there’s new missions and they’re fun they’re a good way to spend your time. You get cash and gold. I wish they gave you a little bit more cash and a little bit more gold and maybe were a little bit harder. But when you boil it down and say they just added more stranger missions, what you’re really saying is rockstar gave us a bunch of new missions for free that earned their own special currency that allow us to unlock higher level missions called opportunities, so that’s cool, like I said in the beginning of this video i’m very excited to livestream myself, going through all these different missions and trying them all out and completing all the contracts.
I think that’s going to be a lot of fun, earning enough of the crappy towel and then being able to just take all my friends into like a really high stakes, really difficult mission. We all get, you know good payouts and have fun like i i’m, going to enjoy that. So this is a good addition to the game and the quick draw pass gave me some stuff to earn i’m pretty much all the way done with the past, because i turned in some collections uh, madame nazar, so i basically am already done with the pass. But you know more goodies to have and i’m excited for the next pass to come out. This is exactly what was described by rockstar now i know they didn’t add a survival mode or homesteads or new weapons, but they didn’t promise that. So if you want to get mad over all of the things that your imagination can conjure up, then i’m, sorry, who cares i i could sit here and list a hundred things that i would love red dead redemption 2 to have. But we all read the news wire that rockstar put out about what blood money was. This is what blood money was described to be, and i really can’t get over the idiocy of complaining about them being just more stranger missions, because every video game has characters or areas that give you missions so going and doing a mission isn’t a bad thing, and Some of them are kind of new and kind of exciting, and when you get done with them, you get capital and you spend the capital on higher stakes opportunities.
I, like that system, it’s, not a perfect system, and i wish there were daily challenges specifically for it, but it’s a fun addition for free a couple of things, though i want to say here at the end, i totally understand people’s complaints with this being the first Big update in a while and it being a little lackluster and essentially just being a stranger mission, expansion, okay, i’ll say it that’s that’s fine. They probably should have released a slightly chunkier update for it being their first update in so long. But the number one thing that i definitely hear the community on and rockstar needs to as well is that it’s all fine and good to give us a bunch of new missions and things to grind through and replay with our friends. That’S great new content is new content. Thank you rockstar, but you need to be giving people stuff to buy this update added some new things to buy from previous outlaw passes. The very expensive, arthur morgan outfit might be fun to grind towards. If you really want that outfit, but yeah, how about guns, how about new vehicles, how about a wagon that pulls along a cannon? How about the remington 1875, how about a muzzle loaded, pistol or rifle? How about you add an old fashioned, blunderbuss, rockstar or bicycles? I really hope the next update has zero missions to it. No rules, no missions, just a ton of new stuff to buy new guns, new vehicles, new horses – maybe some houses – allow us to buy hotel rooms like that, should be the next update in my head, it’s, easier to add content like that than it is to add Actual missions and script and plan out missions so maybe i’m wrong in that, but it feels like it’d be easier for them to add a new rifle, a new revolver, a new horse, a new wagon houses or apartments to buy or essentially hotel rooms to rent.
That would be kind of cool – i really hope that’s what the next update is. But this is all my initial impression, i’m going to talk more about blood money in the future i’m too new at red dead online to give too many tips and tricks or do any guides and doing patch note reading is kind of i don’t know it’s dumb, Because you, you know you’re capable of reading. If you care about the update, you’ll go, read patch notes, i don’t think i need to do that. So let me know what you guys want me to talk about, but i think my next video on red dead will probably be my more finalized opinions on the blood money update, but also, if you guys would like i could do a video that’s probably been done By a hundred other people, but i could do a video about all of the things that i would love to see added to red dead online as a new player. Because, honestly, i do think the next big update should have nothing to do with roles or missions or characters or story just give us stuff to spend money on because i’m new at the game, i don’t have a ton of money and there’s still some basic things. I need to buy but i’m still kind of looking ahead to the future and thinking if i got up to 10 grand, i would have nothing to spend 10 grand on.
If i got up to 500. Gold i’d have nothing to spend that 500 gold on and while that’s, not a game killer for me, because i enjoy the game’s atmosphere, environment and experience more so than a grind or progression loop. But yeah. When you look ahead – and you see that my grinding and progression loop doesn’t, you know amount to much that’s, not great alright. So my initial impression not talking about the bugs when it comes to the blood money update, is it’s a 5 out of 10, which is a pretty good number for me. I always think one is horrible, damn near unplayable, miserable stupid and then 5 is exactly what i expected and 10 is damn near perfect blows me away. Red dead online is kind of a 7 out of 10 game for me, 8 out of 10 game for me, but this updates a solid 5. that might go up or down depending on how much time i put into it or how bad these bugs persist. Thank you guys so much for watching this kind of longer video i’ll see when i see you and don’t forget to leave a like.
