DOUBLE YOUR FLIGHT TIME! – ZOHD 4S 3500 18650 Baterije – QUAD RESULTS!
Now what that means is that you need to use these packs on something that it's like a smaller wing, and you also need to know what your amp draw is. So if you go inside beta flight, you turn on amp. You can actually see battery amperage that's. Being pulled out of the pack so turn that, on on your OSD and then you'll be able to see we're gon na do that in this test, I'm. Also going to show you guys some throttle position percentage of throttle in this test and we'll see how these packs do on the two popular cinema, whoops that I have right here. These are not really gon na work on your race quads. Anything that's, like even a 2306 1750 kV, was too much amp troll on these batteries and the quad just kind of sank down to the ground. On my 7 inch configuration so I'm gon na leave that testing up to more people out there, but today it's all about Sinha whoops, we're gon na test out the Senate queen and the rocket Lani guys had questions if the rocket would handle it. They do have smaller motors than the cinah Queen so I'm interested to see that this one has three inch, and these are good up to 4s, so either of these quads are good on 4s and if you're looking for a really long flight time. This is the way to do it. I'M. Expecting fifteen minutes on one of those quads with this battery so way better than the lipo.
Idemo, let's do a hover test and then, after that, we'll do some flying out here in the field and we'll do a flying test best of both worlds. Here we go now for the hover test, so we're going to use the Cinna Queen on this one and notice the voltage drop when I take off sixteen point, two volts for total voltage. Four point: Dva: for avid cell voltage on the left hand side of the screen right there and you can see the amp draw logistical and what's neat about this test is. This is one of the first quads that I tested, because I had a suspicion that this one would be able to handle the battery, and fortunately it stayed mostly under 10 v. Now these batteries are rated at 10 amp continuously. You can run them higher than 10 Amp. I did test them up to about 15 da 16 amps on the rocket as you'll see coming up it's, not quite as efficient as the cynic wean. So while you can push it a little further, I don't really recommend it that you do that. We'Re, just gon na go ahead now and fast forward to about the 10 minute mark, Zapravo, all the way up to the 12 minute mark and we're gon na see. Now that we've dipped down past the normal lipo warning, so I have the warning on the screen now: I'm below my standard warning is set to about 3.
2, so it doesn't bug me on punchouts, but now we're under 3. Volts and we'd never do with this. With a standard lipo, they do say that you can run these down to about 2.5 v, but you really want to be careful doing that because some people do say that it can damage the chemical structure and balance of the individual cell. Doing that. So I will leave that up to your own discretion. These are as dangerous as your standard, lipo's and we've talked about that before on the channel. Take care of these as much as you would a lipo, because they can both burn your house down. So that did pretty good. We got 13 minutes out of a hover test on a super windy day and I'm. Just gon na go ahead and show you guys the voltage check here. We got 3.27, so we didn't even get down to 2.5 volt it's. Still at resting voltage of 3.2 1 there and 13 volt total, so yeah that's that's really awesome. We couldn't easily get 15 minutes out of a hover test with the Senate Queen. So now, we're gon na do the fly test and I wanted to do the hover test. Prvi, for you, and just let you see how it would handle that I had a feeling that the hover test would be harder than the flying test, because normally we have less amp draw when we're in forward flight than holding a ha with a multi rotor.
The hover is usually using a little bit more energy and juice and drawing more amps than forward flight, so now we're at the field and the conditions they are today, they're pretty good, but there is still some wind out there right now. We probably have about a 10 da 12 mile an hour wind it's, an average condition. You would be getting less flight time if it was more windy, naravno, but right now, after the takeoff, we did dip down to 14 and I'm gon na go ahead and speed this up to about five minute mark here and after five minutes I'm. Still at 3.30, volti po ćeliji, which is looking pretty good and I'm just cruising along in acro here and I've already flown this battery and I've done some extreme testing all the way down to 2.5 volt per cell with this particular pack. So I was wondering if I was going to be able to do it again, and these are these. Batteries are for testing purposes anyway, so I'm gon na try to get some more for my personal use and whenever I'm, using lipo or 18 650s, I usually won't run them down to the bare minimum, but again for this test, I'm kind of just seeing what we Can get away with here, hopefully not sacrificing the battery or having to catch fire on my quad that's one thing: we're yeah I'm kind of worried about when I'm testing something new for you guys so now, we're down to two point: nine five volt total battery voltage Under load is eleven point: eight volts dipping down to eleven point: seven there and notice the amp draw in this whole video for the cynic wean.
You know we didn't even really go above ten amp, that much which is great and right now, we're, almost at eleven minute mark now, we're at two point: nine volts, let's just speed it up again a little bit here, we're at the 13 minute mark guys and Under load remember under load it's it's gon na your voltage is going to go up once you land, so your resting voltage is different than the load voltage that's, something to keep in mind. So if you fly down to two point five on the screen, you could still actually fly it down to less than that on screen your own screen voltage display, but that again that's totally up to your discretion and safety for your aircraft and your surroundings. And all of that, so taking a consideration that you can damage these cells and they're. You know thirty nine dollars a piece, so you want to take care of these batteries, but I was able to bring them all the way down to two point: five on the screen and achieve a 15 minute flight time with the Sinha Queen and I think that's Amazing and the coolest thing you're gon na see here, I'm gon na do a battery check when we put the quad down and I'm gon na show you the resting voltage, the actual voltage left over in this quad I'm thinking that we could actually get close to 20 minutes flight time on the gap RC Center Queen, which is just it's bananas, it's crazy – that it would actually be able to pull that off.
Maybe I'll do that in the future on the channel, but for right now I really respect this battery and I respect that it's able to give me 15 minute flight time right now, we're coming up on that landmark, 15 minuta, which is just awesome, no other quad Out there right now can achieve this type of flight time as far as the fpv quad, without having a tremendously large battery battery 18 650. S are just amazing for low voltage, type of flights, and others have done this with their own soldered up packs. But we don't have to solder up our own packs anymore, because Zod's offering these for s 3500, which i think is just awesome, i've, been waiting for this for quite some time. So i said this and in the last review you want to make sure you grab a couple of these bags just to try them out see if you like them, you're, not going to be punching on the throttle if you're doing cinema type stuff. This is perfect. If you're doing freestyle don't worry about these batteries just continue to fly with lipos, but these are perfect for the gap RC sena queen and cruising along just getting a really long flight time. Absolutely perfect flight test. So now I'm, just gon na hold my finger over top of it and I'll show you guys the voltage here and it looks like three point. Two. Six three point, two seven three point: Dva.
Five. Sve 1301. Three point: two three, two three point: two three. Three three point: two three three point: Dva: zero four, four, so yeah that's, actually really good, so we're above the voltage that they suggest not going down to, which is about 2.5 volts for a cell. If you get close to that range, you might start to damage your cells in the battery and even after flying for fifteen and a half minutes just like any standard. Lipo there's pushed a little bit. These eighteen 650s do get kind of hot when they come down, but set them in the shade don't set them in the direct sunlight and keep a close eye on your 18 650s. Oni su, I would say, just as volatile as anything like a lipo. The lipo will burn your house down and the same thing for at 18 650s. You have to be very careful with your voltage and don't try to fly them for 25 minuta 15 minutes flight time is very acceptable for the sinem queen that I have here and probably any of the three inch cinemates that are from gap. Rc I'll try to put some links down below for those it will not work on the larger Center with the three inch Center whoops with the foam ducts. If you're looking for the bumblebee and the other ones like diatom and cake take Han, I know you guys. Gon na ask about that one, the Green Hornet – those are gon na – be a little bit too intense on the amp drone, so that's one thing to be considered.
I will test it out for you guys later on the channel, so stay tuned for that. But I think this was a pretty successful flight test and just to end out the video for you it's going to be a shorter flight time. I already tested the little rocket and that has way less efficient motors and I'm getting about a 15. Na 13 da 15 amp continuous draws so it's a little bit high for the rocket for this configuration with these batteries, but I think you're safe to get 15 minutes with these 4s have 3500 milliamps guys so grab them. While you can snap them up, because they're gon na sell out I'm Justin Davis take care, enjoy the rest of the video I'll, see you on the next one: u redu, so we're gon na test out the gap RC rockin honestly, I just I I had intended to In this video on the flight after the Cinna Queen, because the Cinna queen did a lot better than the rocket, the rocket has smaller props on here, it's less efficient it has a higher amp draw. You can see. The amp draw is in upwards of 15 da 16 amp right there going down to about 13 i 11 at times, but the average amp draw is probably around 14 amps on this particular setup. So it's not the most efficient set up, which is disappointing, because I know a lot of people love the rocket most of you guys have probably bought one of these that watch my channel, but it's just not I'm, not sure that this is the right quad.
For this particular battery pack safely and now again, these packs are supposed to be a 10 amp continuous draw and even though I'm pressing them to 14 da 15 da 16 amp continuous draw right now. This is kind of a good test anyway, just to see how much this battery can handle I'm, not suggesting that you go out and try this on your rocket I'm, not suggesting you, try it on a 5 palac. You know pushing most of the 5 inches are pushing up 25 30 amps, so I mean that's on 4s and they need that kind of ESC to be able to handle it. But here you can see I'm down to 10 point 7 here I'm. At the nine minute mark 72 throttle just to kind of keep a hover and a much. I have to also note that a much higher throttle is needed on the rocket than the Sena Queen, so that's, where the Sinha Queen comes in with a little larger motor configuration but more efficient with the larger prop size and just a little bit larger frame and That'S kind of surprising, but we also have a higher rpm with these smaller props. I believe these were the Yvonne 2 inch props one here so they're swinging quite fast and they're sucking down the battery just a little bit quicker. So here you can see it's beeping on screen and again, if you're, if you're gon na be flying these types of packs, make sure you go into beta flight and turn down your voltage warning to something like 2.
5 ili 275. I think that a safe resting like well flying voltage would be to land it. When you hit 2.80 ili 2.75, your battery pack will come down hot, though so, if you don't want an 18 650 pack to come down hot, you might even try to fly it to about 3 volts and I still think it'll be a little bit warm so That you know that's per so keep that in mind, and a lot of this has to do with the way you'd like to fly so and your threshold for safety. Some guys will push these a little bit further than other guys and Music. Some guys will not. I like to take care of my lipos and a lot of times. You guys see me landing my lipos fairly early. I do punish them with some pretty high throttle stuff, but a lot of times I'm flying them from 2 da 3 minutes unless I'm trying to find out how long a quad will fly for you. But this has been a great test and I just decided to include this extra footage in here, because it was a nice day and the rocket is a really popular one. I was able to squeeze out 11 minutes with the rocket and see I can I'm right there, almost a 2.5 volts and it came up as it ended there. You can see it shoot up to almost 3 Volti 2.95 and we'll check it on the battery checker.
Now and we'll go ahead and finish up this review, for you guys, alright guys so we're all done with the rocket now and the testing looks pretty good. I was able to get 11 minutes flight time out of this pack and on screen you saw that it was time to land. I was getting close to 2.5 volt on the singular cell side, so that is the dangerous level where you're gon na start to damage chemical components, but the resting voltage is now 13.7, so that's actually pretty good. Three point: four to three point: four: five. I have three point four four and I have three point three eight so well above the 2.5 volt in arresting volt in the package, so that that's interesting to me because I feel like I could have flied, maybe three or four more minutes. I would have easily got sixteen minutes flight time out of this pack. The problem is, is that I just don't want to push it that far on screen the more I fly, these packs, the more I get used to them, but if you're interested also to know what type of cells that Zod chose to put in these packs, many People are asking: if well did they use a cheap China brand 18 650? Are they gon na burn up? Are they super cheap? Pa, Ne, not exactly there's sanyo packs and they are I'm, not sure if they're Japanese version or the Chinese version.
So I have to double check on that for you, but they were tested online and they did very well up against the most popular one. The Samsung's so I'll put some links down there below. If you guys suggest that or you want to see some proof of how well these cells perform outside quad use, so remember this one is drawing a little more amps of around 15 amps on the average, and this one was getting under 10 amps. So I think that the sin of Queen and the sin of King I'll try to put some other links down below for other quads. That will work out with this battery as far as Sinha whoops go, do not use the 3s larger phone bumper ones or the 5 inch quads most likely not going to work with these type of packs, but you're good on the sinner whoops at this 3 inch Size, so everything will be down below you can check them all out, there's various different sizes available. Now all the way up to like a seven thousand milliamp, which is super awesome, so we're gon na have some fun this year. Dečki, we're gon na have a longer flight times all year, long with our sinner whoops guys.
