Today we are checking out the holy stones: hs710. It is a foldable 5g wi fi, fpv 4k camera optical flow sensor, brushless motor gps, rc quadcopter ready to fly, so it has foldable arms that are uneven in height, but yet they managed to level out the front and the rear motors to the same height, which I believe makes a huge difference in stability of the quadcopter when it is in flight, so we have brushless motors and we got dual bladed floppy props with a center hub and we have status, led lights in the front, arms and landing pads on the bottom of The front arms and we have two landing pads on the bottom of the body in the rear. Two stick that landing. So in the front we have the 5g wi fi fpv remote tilt, adjustable 4k camera and on the bottom we also have the optical flow sensor. Horizontal positioning camera and we have the micro sd card slot for the built in dvr. It supports up to a 32 gigabyte micro sd card and a class 10 or higher micro sd card is recommended. Now in the rear. We have the battery bay squeeze both side of the battery to unlock and remove the battery. The battery is a 7.7 volt, 1820 milliamp size battery. It is said to be good for about 25 minutes of flight time charge it up using the provided charge, cable via the type c port. Now, theres a power push button on and off switch, so press and hold the power button to power up to check the remaining charge left in the battery and hold the power button to power off, and that is how the quadcopter will also power on and off.

As well slide it back in and it will lock into place the remote controller is your basic 2.4 gigahertz, mjx style, remote controller, its got the flip out antennas, but they do not have any antenna wires running up them, so they are basically just for looks. We also have the flip out hand grips and it feels really good in the hands. The gimbals are nice and smooth also theres, also the pull out phone holder spring loaded. That has two positions and it will hold my iphone 8 plus with a minimalistic case. So on the left, shoulder we have a rotary dial that does not have any functions and the camera button short press to take a photo and long press to take a video on the right shoulder. We have another rotary dial and this one is to remotely tilt the angle of the 4k camera. We also have the speed. Changing button speeds one and two can be had in the front. We have the lcd display screen and we have the one key to take off and lan button. We have the lock and unlock or the arm and disarm button. We have the power sliding on and off switch. We have the smart return to home button and on the right side, is the gps on off button now bolt sticks to the bottom and to the right is to calibrate the compass and bolt sticks to the bottom and to the left is to calibrate the gyros Of the quadcopter, it will take two double a size: batteries all right guys so to get started.

Lets go ahead and power up the quadcopter, long press, the power button. Music escs have sung their song now power up the remote control, and now what you want to do is calibrate the compass of the quadcopter by both sticks to the bottom and to the right. Okay, thatll initiate the compass calibration, so rotate the quadcopter horizontally until the front led status, led lights, turn green and there you go green now. What you want to do is with the nose down or nose up rotate it vertically until the front led lights, turn yellow. Once again, and there you go kind of light, green, not really, yellow and place it back on a flat surface. So we can calibrate the gyros. So both sticks to the bottom and to the left will calibrate the gyros of the quadcopter and the lights go flashing and they will turn back solid now. What you want to do is wait until it acquires all of the necessary gps before you take off so right now i got zero gps. So in the meantime, im gon na turn on my phone go to the wi fi section of my settings and connect to the holy stone, fpv wi fi network, which it already has and start up the app the app is called the ophelia go app free downloadable, App in the app store so go ahead and check it out and lets go and tap on. It enter the device and its going to give me some kind of information about how to connect.

Let me get out, and it gives me a final notice here, hard to read so im gon na go ahead and screen record three two one boom screen is recording, so it says something about after continuous long flight time. The drones lifetime may be affected by the operation of high temperatures, so if you want to consecutively, fly, wait two minutes after pulling out the first battery, so the motors can cool down and stuff like that. So hit yes, i know and we got wi fi fpv. So lets go ahead and check it out here. Oh nice, fpv, video and the camera has a nice field of view, so that is pretty cool now this thing does not have electronic image stabilization, nor a gimbal. So youre gon na see some shakiness in the video but looks like its got: a good quality camera. So lets put it back on the table and lets see i have 10 gps acquire, so we are ready to go and the color on the top of the app turned green. So im assuming we are good to go so lets check out the camera tilt angle. Here, yeah all the way down the 90 degrees and all the way up to horizon, which is zero degrees. That is nice all right. So lets go ahead and take some photos. Lets say the photo button is on this side, so im going to hold it with my left hand, there you go taking a photo there and the mountains wave yonder have some snow packed up which looks really nice what a beautiful day it is and heres the Sun, no solar eclipse picture this way photo right there, my office, one more there and my shadow with the landing pad.

All right so were taking some photos now lets go ahead and take a video so long, pressing, Music Applause, Music, so Music, the button double beep and a camera icon is flashing on the lcd display. So we are good to go guys so lets go ahead and unlock the motors or arm the motors. By hitting this button right here there you go and hit the one key to take off okay automatic takeoff and look at how stable this thing is. Its holding position nicely too, maybe its drifting. That way just a little bit and we do have gps turned on so lets, go ahead and turn off gps and lets see if it drifts off yeah. It is starting to drift off a little bit, but it is still holding its position. The optical flow sensor camera good for about three meters. So look at that, even if youre indoors, it will hold position and not drift off. Look at that very nice. So, with the gps on it will lock into place gps position hold all right, so lets see yours in place kind of it kind of rotates, but pretty much rotates in the same position. Basically so thats, not bad okay, so lets go ahead and check it out. Here lets get it angry. Oh yeah goes back to its original and locks itself in nice. Lets see what speed we are in. Okay. Now we are in speed number one. We were in speed number two, so this is full throttle or full pitch rather, and it was really uh fast to respond to a little bit of throttle input.

Look at that nice, huh, okay, not very fast, in speed number one, but very nice, nice and smooth going forward, and that is the maximum speed at speed number one and maximum yaw in speed number one. So you want to take some smoother videos. Do it in speed number one, so it is a little smoother now lets see speed, number two: okay, double beeps and we are in speed number two. I see a little bit of pitching effect a little bit more than speed number one. A lot more speed can be had in speed number two. There you go little speed pass yeah. This thing is very nice: nice behaving oh yeah, and let me bring it in a little bit closer here to do the full yaw, okay, full your full pitch in speed. Number: two: nice! Okay, let me see the video oh yeah, pretty nice yeah, so it kind of you know shakes the camera is not stabilized, but thats, not bad. So let me tilt the camera down all the way down to 90 degrees. Looking straight below and all the way up there, you go all the way up horizon nice, very nice. All right, so lets go ahead and check on special features here. The headless mode, headless mode slide and lets see going forward in a spin and headless mode works. Great coming back in a spin, and it is working really nice going to the left in a spin and going to the right in a spin, so it does not matter which way the quadcopter is facing.

If you push it forward, itll go away from you, pull it back, itll come towards you so headless mode for you so hit that icon and you exit headless mode, and we are back to the regular heading mode. All right, nice, okay, lets check out and see. If it has good follow me feature here, hit that follow me and slide okay. Does it turn around and lock onto my phone? Well, it is slightly off isnt it okay im in the center, so let me tilt the camera down a little bit and lower it on the quadcopter as well all right. So here we are lets see if it does follow me. Yes, it does so it is following the gps coordinates of the phone, so your phone does influence. The follow me feature quite a lot and look at that. Its following me: pretty good yeah its a little bumpy. However, no stabilization camera tilt angle down a little bit and yeah its doing a nice job of following me around. Look at that its right above me and let me go towards it Music. Does it go backwards, come on you got to go backwards, it kind of lost my location now, okay, now i figured it out now. I figured out that im coming towards it and look at that. It takes a little split second to realize that, but yeah follow me works pretty good, so to exit. Follow me just go ahead and hit that icon once again and you have read taking control of it.

Nice, okay, camera tilt up and lets do some a little bit of fpv here. So the camera tilt angle is pretty low, so im seeing a lot of ground here in speed number two, but it is doing pretty good now. The camera tilt angle is all the way up to zero degrees, but it is doing really nice look at that. Okay, so let me go ahead and go down to speed number one: okay, speed number one and full pitch, and now the camera angle is not that bad. You see a little bit of horizon. You see a little bit of cloud. I mean a sky cloud: okay, theres, the quadcopter okay, and here i am coming towards myself. However, the video did freeze a couple of times hey, but its doing pretty good. The camera quality, however, is really nice, nice all right, pretty cool so far, so good, okay! So before you get started guys, you see that settings icon on the top right corner, oh in flight, it says, cannot be set, but so let me go ahead and land. This thing real quick: it does have 23 to 25 minutes of flight time, so it should be good. So what im gon na do is hit that one key to land and still be able to redirect this path a little bit to land in the middle of the landing pad and looks like the motor shut off as well. And am i still recording? Yes, im? Still recording – and am i still recording yes, i am okay, so lets go ahead and land it down here first, so we have re home, thats home point.

So, whenever you land and take off, that is going to be your new home point thats, where the quadcopter will come back and land all right so, like i said, hit that settings button and you see where it says: beginner. If you turn it on, you will not be able to go that far so go ahead and turn it off unless youre a complete beginner and when you turn it off, you can adjust the parameters of the distance. As you can see here, orbit semi diameter. It says oh orbit diameter. I want to take that to about 20 and check out the maximum distance. It has an infinity symbol. How cool is that and the maximum height is 120 meters and the return home altitude is set to 15 meters? Okay, so you want to do that first before you take off. If you are an expert pilot, then you want to go and turn off beginner mode. But if you are a true beginner leave the beginner mode on until you get used to it. So you dont fly away too far. Okay, so it says, update and i have updated all right. So that is what you need to do before you actually take off all right. So lets go ahead and arm the motors and im just going to manually. Take off. Did you see that take off that thing is like yeah, unbelievable, okay, so right about here is right above me, so lets go ahead and see.

If it does the circle me circle me and then i slide, and what does it do? Oh it goes away sideways. It just goes away from me sideways look at that and oh man, it doesnt, even stop. It just starts to circle around, but the point of interest is a little bit off. Okay, so lets go ahead and throttle up. Oh yeah im able to throttle up im able to throttle down while its doing the circle me. So you see that circle mean position is a little off there. Yeah, instead of right here circle. Knee position is over there. Okay, so thats a little off there. So lets go ahead and see if i can pull the distance away from me with the pitch and roll okay im pulling it and it is not making a difference. I dont think. Let me push it see if it makes a difference, so the pitch push and pull does not have any effect on the radius. Let me go ahead and roll the rolling does not have any effect, so the right stick doesnt have any effect at all. When its doing the circle knee its just the throttle up and down, you can rearrange the height of the clock up the wall. Its doing the circle me yeah and the point of interest is off a little bit so thats not too good. Let me get out of the circle mini feature and lets go ahead and check out the smart return home so lets go ahead and let go of the sticks right there and it comes to a hover man.

This hovers really nice too. Look at that. So lets go ahead and hit that return home button. Oh rises up in altitude to the designated altitude that we have set, and it just comes right backwards and positions itself lets see how long it takes, and it takes a couple seconds before it starts to descend and lets see if it has a stopping spot. Music. Nope, it just kind of slows down and comes to a landing pretty close to where it took off from so that is smart return home and there we go in the middle of the takeoff or the landing pad were gon na retake off. One key to take off this time from the ground to see how high it becomes there you go, that is the height that it rests before you take control. So this time, what we are going to do is hit that smart return home button rising up in altitude and its going to start coming back and im going to hit that smart return home button once again to exit the smart return home and retake control of The quad – and that does really nicely so anytime – you are coming back from a smart return home just hit the button to retake control of it once it comes back into view all right, because uh it will not avoid obstacles or anything. So you have to kind of see how its coming back make sure now, this time around, what im going to do is check out the fail, safe return, home and im going to go ahead and turn off the remote controller.

Now i want to make sure i got all my recordings done so im going to go ahead and hit the video to stop the video okay. Stop the video now im going to restart the video just in case i lose that video clip so im going to go ahead and turn off the remote control to simulate the fail safe. So lets see how long it takes usually about six seconds and there you go starting to rise up in altitude and comes back same as the smart return. Home same height does not turn around or anything and hovers up there and one or two seconds later. It starts to descend Music and slows down quite nicely too. Look at that nice and slow and looks like its going to make it onto the landing pad this time. Yeah very nice. Okay lets place it back turn on the remote control once again, and hopefully we have reconnected. The green came back on on the top of the app, so we are reconnected and i can arm the motors and manually take off so now this time. What im going to do is retake control once its coming back from a failsafe by turning the remote controller back on so lets go ahead and turn it off six seconds climbing and once it starts to come back im gon na turn it back on there. You go turned it back on, but you know what its not stopping.

It is resuming or continuing the fail safe return home lets see. If i hit the return to home button. Okay, there you can hit the smart return home button wall is coming back once you retake control of it, so you can fly it to your liking. So perhaps that is because i turned my remote control on and off, but in real life, if you do lose control and it comes back from a fail safe, it will probably auto connect and you are going to be able to retake control of it. Hopefully, if not just press the smart return home button – and you should be good to go all right – very nice, very nice quadcopter guys holy stone always comes through with quality, and this one is really nice. Now the only downside is, it does not have any electronic image stabilization. It does not have a gimbal, so the video quality is not stabilized other than that. This quadcopter is really nice. So far, really nice lets see what the battery indicator is telling me here lets see. I got three bars remaining on the lcd screen here. You can see that i got three bars remaining on the remote control. I got three bars remaining, so lets go ahead and go as far as we can. I guess this way to check out its distance, okay, pushing it out. We are still in speed number one, so you can see horizon and some sky okay a little bit of a stutter right there, but it is continuing to go.

I got video, oh now it kind of froze a little bit and it says 190 meters, 200. Continuing to push it out, even though the wi fi video stops, we got the dvr recording directly to the microsd card, so we should have good video and i got the camera icon blinking. So we are still taking a video and im continuing to push it im. Going to go up in altitude a little bit theres some power lines over there. I dont want to get too close to it and go up in altitude, so i have a direct line of sight with the transmitter and even though the antennas are not real, we got pretty good distance guys. Oh look at that. I got two bars remaining and we got low battery signal on the top left of the app and it is heading its way back from a low voltage. That will be the first phase of low voltage return home where it will come back and i believe we are going to have a geo fencing. So we are unable to fly out of that geo, fencing so lets find out, and oh it just went into the second phase of low voltage. Now i have just one bar remaining on the battery life indicator, so it is coming back. Hopefully, it makes it back home its just coming back backwards. I do see it up there and there you go safely returns home, so you can never lose this quadcopter guys.

So that is one thing good. You know what it is doing: kind of a toilet bowl activity, so the gps position hold is a little off, even though i have 11 gps locked on yeah. Look at that it is just rotating yeah. That is not good and there is some kind of eagle flying too. Look at that. Oh hawk, nice. Okay, so is it coming down? It is trying to come down. Yes, it is coming down. Lets see what happens. Okay, it is trying to come down, but its rotating with a toilet bowl effect as well. At the same time now it is stabled, it is not rotating and its coming straight down. I think its going to hit my table so im going to move my table out of the way and look at that, its going to miss the landing pad by a lot because it lost gps position, kind of rotating with that toilet bowl activity, all right guys. So that is the flight time of the holy stone hs710. I think i could have pushed it on a little bit further if it did not go into the low voltage, but wow im surprised that the low voltage phase one and two is very short, so i guess its a good thing, but it is also a bad Thing if you went too far so there you go guys my review and test flight of the holy stones.
