This is a new brand that is actually from hdrc. So all the parts here are from hdrc and i think this is just the first frame design for this brand. I think there’s going to be more coming later. This is uh, basically the design for the mini long range from dave cfpv. So if you remember uh, the explorer lr from flywheel was the micro long range frame for four inch. That was um also designed by dave c and so davis is working with hglrc now to create the five inch mini long range version of the sort of dead cat, long range frame based on very light components. Umm. You know to give you long flight times, but a little bit of aggro ability a little bit of freestyle. So you know if you guys, are looking for something primarily for cruising and longer flights and on five inch setup for more efficiency. De toute évidence, this is going to be over the 250 gram limits. So if you’re, if that’s your primary um concern, is getting under 250 grams and i would look at the four inch versus the five inch because i don’t think this is going to get under 250 grammes. Of any kind of battery now this is this whole platform here is, is basically uh, designed for a larger weight and larger carrying capacity, because it’s on a bigger motor setup and a bigger propeller setup. So you obviously you know you have the naked gopro mount on here and i did run my naked gopro on this one, but it has a standard.
I guess you know uh gopher style mount here, so you can put like a session five or a bigger gopro. Like a hero8 and because it’s a five inch setup here, it should be able to handle that weight. No problem in addition to carrying larger uh battery p load like this uh outline for us two thousand milliamp hour pack uh, you can get longer flight times. If you want and carry a bigger battery, so you can get close to 25 à 30 minutes de temps de vol. Si c’est, your goal now, like micro, longue portée, does come with gps for return to home. This one here is the digital version that came with the vista with the caddix nebula pro camera and uh. This one here has an hdrc stack: c’est e uh ., the f722 three to six s, flight controller and the zeus: 30 amp 32, bit um uh, four in one esc and it’s the 32 bit esc, and these are both 20 par 20 pièces. Mine came with the crossfire receiver and the receiver antenna is here on the side, and it comes in the box like this, and you can kind of see it when it’s like in this orientation. You can see it in the video now it’s actually meant to be or twisted and turned uh vertical. That would give you the best reception for reception for long range. But if you have this in this orientation, when you take off, you have to be on like an edge of a table or something so that the antenna can sit down.
Otherwise what will happen? Is it will just they’ll go like this they’ll be, like kind of you know, unbalanced like that, so you don’t want to take off like that and um it. You know it may twist and lay flat anyway, so you want to be on the edge of a table so that the front part of this antenna can be pivoted forward like this. This will give you the best reception, so they went with this sort of. You know design to keep the antenna vertical. I guess that’s they’ll give you the best reception for crossfire versus the uh horizontal orientation in the front like it was on the some of the other long range quads out there like the explorer lr, and then this whole frame here is designed with efficiency and weight. In mind to try and keep the weight as low as possible, so you know they’re going with the aos series. Il s’agit de la 2004 moteur 3000 kv4 4s there’s an 1800 purple version of this motor for 6s. I don’t have the 6s version and of course they come. It comes in 4s and 6s versions for the analog version. It doesn’t come with the vista. It comes with like an 800 milliwatt video transmitter, and i forget what the camera is. It’S uh some sort of a analog fpv camera, so that’s that if you want to get the cheaper analog version, um there’s a digital and analog versions. And then i think they both come with the hammer antenna here for long range.
With the long stem here. To keep it away from the carbon and, of course the dji is going to be left handed and the you know i was going to be right, handed yeah, sorte que le 2004 moteurs 3000 kv. You got the jim fan 3016. I believe props here, uh three bladed. Now for the frame you have a one and a half millimeter top plate and a one and a half millimeter bottom plate here and that’s like the top portion and then there’s. The bottom portion is in the front here: it’s also one and a half millimeters. So all these plates are very thin and uh to keep the weight as low as possible and then the key to the whole design here is the arms, and so you have two arms here or actually two sets of arms. So the front and back here this is one piece and then on the other side is another piece. So this is one piece of carbon that goes across here and then they’re mated in the center right here and then there’s. This bolt that holds it down and mine is a little bit crooked and kind of hard to see and kind of see how they’re not it’s, not perfectly straight across here it’s been twisted and i haven’t crashed or anything. This came. It came like this from the factory, so i’ll probably have to unloosen this and twist untwisted, because what happens is because it’s a little bit off center the distance here on this side.
This back arm is a little bit wider, so you can see that gap. There is no, non, maybe somewhat centimeter and then over here see there’s, not as much gap and this because of the way the prop runs and everything this actually can hit this. This actual post back here i’ve actually heard it in like hard punch outs. You can actually hear it hear it hitting that back. Left standoff, Umm, pas une grosse affaire, but it’s the carbon isn’t cut exactly right, so that the whole. I think the whole point of this frame is to prevent that from happening so that you can’t have that sort of twisting of the arms so that that basically gets out of center. So it’s not terrible. It doesn’t really affect the flight performance that much, but something to be aware of now they do provide these braces that do not attach. It goes between the front and the back motors like this, and if you’re carrying extra weight like a bigger battery like this lithium ion battery and i’d recommend actually getting three thousand milliamp hour or something bigger for more flight time. But if you’re carrying a lot more payload like a gopro and a bigger battery for a longer flight time, you’re going to probably want to put those braces on because it does um because the longer back arm here this does affect the pinching a little bit and A little bit more vibration because of the longer arm.
If you have that brace there between the front and the back arms here, then that just dampens it down a little bit to prevent the vibration from getting really that bad anyway. So i have flown with a bunch of different batteries. Ici, i’ve got this force 850 and um. You know you’re gon na have to kind of watch what battery you use here in terms of getting to fit in the back here. If you have a bigger camera, because the camera angle that could interfere with the battery so be aware of that now uh depending upon how you fly, then you know how much flight time you get is going to vary by quite a bit. Alors, if you’re really really aggressive and doing a lot of acro freestyle uh, if you’re aggressive on the fro throttle, then this force 850 is going to get you like five minutes of flight time uh. But if you’re a little bit more just sort of cruising around and stuff and not really that aggressive on the throttle, you could probably get eight to eight and a half minutes of flight time on this battery. À présent, if you move up to a bigger heavier battery like this um 1300 uh force, uh it’s heavier, you have definitely more energy in the battery, but you also have more weight. So you know so it’s a little bit of a trade off right. So you get a little more flight time, ses, not as much as you would think.
It’S about 10 minutes, je suis, just cruising around on this 1300 and if you’re more aggressive, then you’re you’re bumping up from like that four minute. Five minutes ish to like six. This six six and a half minutes of regressive flying. So you know the the range of the flight time is going to be wide it’s going to vary. If it really depends on conditions, how windy it is how how aggressive you’re on throttle and how? How you know how much full throttle punch outs you do if you do a lot of full throttle, punch outs, that’ll drain the battery, much quicker and then, if you’re looking for efficiency, go with like a 3 000 milliamp hour outline 4s, if you’ve got the fourth Version they do have a 6s version. So if you get the 6s version carrying six cells of lithium ion batteries, it’s a lot of extra weight um, i don’t have that version. So i can’t really test that to tell you let you know, but you know basically, you don’t get any punch out ability on any of these lithium ion batteries. It just doesn’t doesn’t have the capability of providing that much current. Alors, if you’re carrying on this much payload – and you want to do freestyle, don’t use lithium ion battery use a you know lipo battery instead and i would go with a lighter lipo battery. If you want more accurate performance, go this 850 4s, something in that size.
It’S going to keep it nice and light and give you the maximum amount of accurability, but if you’re going strictly for a flight time, go for like a 3 000 heure milliamp, 4s lithium ion battery, you get close to 25 à 30 minutes of fly time. Encore une fois, your range, your flight time, is going to really vary so here on the front. Is this sort of interesting design to give some strength to the camera areas to protect it? So you have this little thin carbon plate here, which is only one and a half millimeter. So you know that might break and a really hard crash if you hit it straight on, but it does have this really thick tpu pod here for the camera and also for mounting the gopro or some sort of hd camera here, and this whole section here is Designed to take a direct hit in the front here and absorb the energy so that it saves your camera and hopefully it doesn’t damage your vote for whatever’s up on top here, but this is also meant for vibration, dampening so, if there’s, any vibrations coming from the Motors or the arms or the frame um should get less of that in your video and less jello, all right so i’m going to weigh this here, but before i waste i do want to uh point a couple more things. I just forgot. You know there’s a gps back here, it’s the m80 gps uh.
Pour certaines raisons, my gps does not seem to want to get a lock and i’ve flown this a lot and it just will not uh get a style lock at all and i’ve left it sitting outside with a fan blowing on the vista to keep it cool. Pour 15 minutes – and it never got a style lock so not sure if the wiring or something is messed up here, because there might be interference in terms of the wiring going from the gps to flight controller, then my diatone, the roma f4, has that same problem. I think this one has that same problem as well there’s, something going on with rf interference on this one. Now it might just be my model. Maybe mine was built properly. Who knows this is a early release, so uh i’m going to try and figure that out and maybe i’ll, let you guys know in a later video but yeah. The gps problems on these on these long range quads seems to be pretty common, and this is no exception. And then you have a lost model alarm buzzer back here on on the bottom and there’s a little button here. So when you unplug the battery the main flight battery, you got to hold this little button down for three seconds. Dans le cas contraire, it’ll start beeping at you, chaque 30 seconds or so and um yeah. In order to deactivate the alarm, you have to hold this button down for three seconds after you unplug the main battery, and this is pretty loud and of course, you know in case you crash somewhere um, and you want to recover your quad.
This will be beeping like like there’s, a lot of the other like v fly um, you know lost model, alarms that you’ve i’ve reviewed in the past. Je pense que c’est, a different brand here from i think, a different company, but they all kind of work. The same and has a built in battery all right, so here’s how much it weighs this is just the drone with the nikki gopro mount it’s 232 grams and then with my naked gopro on here, with my custom power setup. Throw that on here and then the camera so already we’re over 250 ses 260 grams and then with the lightest 854 batterie. I wouldn’t go any lighter than this um. Tu sais que c’est, just not gon na it’s, not really worth it. Uh coming at 359 grammes. All up weight – this is probably for the lightest setup. À présent, if you’re going for something heavier like a lithium ion battery, this is going to take it way up. Let’S see here, Oui, monter à 454 grammes, so about 100 grammes, more on a four cell lithium ion battery and the three thousand milliamp hour is going to be a little bit heavier uh, even still, d'accord. So to cover for this video i’m going to leave you the links to the full uh flights, i guess down in the description. So if you want to watch it in like higher resolution, i think one of those in 4k and one’s in like 2.
7k and then also uh the dji footage. If you want to get a little bit closer. Look at that that’ll be down in the video description.
