I haven’t flown it yet and we’ll go flat in a minute and we’ll go over all the features of it. But before i do that, let me say this: if someone came to me a few weeks ago and said james, i want a nice foldable drone. I want it to have gps, en d’autres termes, not be a toy drone that kind of drifts away in the wind. I want to hook up to the app on my phone and have it connect to all the satellites, so it stays in position also the same position. I want to have an optical flow sensor on the bottom, so it really gets good stationary flight above the ground. I wanted to have a really cool carrying case with multiple batteries, prop guards extra blades, a really simple charging system for the battery. Instead of one of those big clunky things that they’ve always had, i wanted in the app i wanted to have follow me. I want it to have waypoints, which has a map where you draw your finger and it’ll follow wherever your finger goes. I wanted to be able to circle around me. I wanted to have one button to take off one button to land, and i wanted to have return to home, to where the gps tells it to land wherever it took off from. I wanted to have a 2k camera. At least i want to be able to move the camera up and down with the remote with the gimbal and uh.
I want all of that for under 140, i would say well, do you want me to make you younger and better looking while i’m at it too? But you know what it’s here guys this thing is under 140 and it does all of that uh. You might be thinking something like this is, which is the most popular drone in the world, but actually this one’s about four times that much with multiple batteries and a carrying case. Donc, c’est, si c’est, one fourth of price. Is it a good drone? I don’t know let’s, go fly it and find out holy stones; they definitely make the best mini drone, beginner drone and before you buy this and put it up in the air, i say get this this drone first and the reason i say that to get a Mini drone is because this controller and this controller have the same aspects of the drone going up and down and yawn, left and right and rolling, and all the aspects of a drone do because typically someone they go, buy a drone and um. They don’t know how to fly it and then they come back and they have something like this and they think stupid drone and they blame it on the drone. But what they did is they don’t know the orientation of the drone and the first time you fly. If you don’t know orientation of what these controls are doing, uh you’re endangering yourself other people and your drone so start with the mini drone.
This is the best mini drone bar none on the market, the holy stone, Hs, 210 and it’s this price on amazon. Right now and here’s the price on amazon right now on this one and as of today, it’s got a great discount and we’ll go over that later and we’ll go over all that. But before we go put it up in the air, um let’s go over. Some of the features and how to set the gyro all right, guys let’s, take a look at everything. Tout d’abord. Look at this case. This case is really nice. I love the material it’s made out of inside and out. It’S got a zipper up here to keep all your blades and everything your extra battery goes here. Of course the quadcopter goes here. The remote goes here. You can put your wires in here or up in here. Everything fits really really nicely like. I said it does. Come with extra blades and prop guards, and these prop guards they just kind of pop on the sides. Here they probably reduce the time that you’re gon na be able to fly at one to two minutes. But if you’re a beginner, Je dirais, use these, so they pop in just like that man. They stick way out don’t they too all right and then, like i said so, it’s got lights in the front. It’S got that two axis gimbal that moves up and down – and you may say man – i wish it had a three axle.
Well guys be careful what you’re, what you asked for you see how this camera inside this gimbal is protected by the sides and it’s not on these drones. Comment, when you have a three axis, gimbal it’s kind of sticking out and when you crash it, this is like the first thing that breaks is these gimbals, this camera breaks off and uh to repair this costs twice what this drone costs so for a beginner drone. This camera is really protected well in case of a crash, so let’s go over the remote it’s got these nice little handles that fold out to make it really nice to hold right here. I don’t your antenna is in the back it flips up. It is a rechargeable guys you can plug this in right here into your usb and it charges the remote there’s no need for batteries. C'est, really nice and it’ll tell you on the app how how much this is charged up. This flips up your phone goes here and, bien sûr, this moves up and down to hold your phone uh here’s your power button to turn it on and off. This is your gps button. We’Ll go over that in a minute to set the gyro. This is your one touch: take off and landing. This is your return to home button up here. You’Ve got your video button and your camera button. You can also control those from the app and then this moves, your gimbal up and down right here for the camera.
The one thing that is confusing about this i wish they made it into a button, is the speed. So it comes with two speeds: a low and a high, and how you change that, if you get one thing out of this, is to push this down and you’ll feel a little click and and over here, when you push this one down, this sets the trim In other words, when it’s sitting there hoving it does have obstacle flow and gps, but if it seems to be hovering right or left, then you’re going to push this down and then slide this right or left with the opposite direction of what it’s doing it’ll. Take a little bit of practice, but you’ll get the hang of it so i’m going to go over the settings and how to set the wi fi up with my ipad but i’m going to apply it with my phone. So it takes a long press of the power button which is right here. On top you’ll, see it’ll start blinking, and so then you go on your phone. The first thing you’re going to do is go to your settings and go to wi fi, and then you see holy stone, fpv right there. You push that and you can’t fly it until you see that check. I think if you do, i see so many people talking about flyaways, and this is why also you’re going to want to go back and see airplane mode.
You want to turn on airplane mode if you’re flying it with your phone. Not only do you not want your girlfriend, calling you and texting you while you’re flying this stops a lot of outside interferences that are real important in wi fi drones. So if you turn it to airplane mode, the it’s using the wi fi from your phone, not the wi fi from your house, it’s different. So then you’re going to open up the app it’s with that it’s right here, it’s the holy stone gps v5. And if you can’t find it all you got to do, is you go into your instructions and you will see this qr code and you can take a picture of it right here for android or for ios and it’ll pull up the app in the app store And then you download it it’s, really nice app right here. It’S got the app instructions, so it tells you everything: it’ll! Do the back button status bar how much your sd card has how many gps’s you have how your battery is on the quadcopter a setup button we’ll go over that in a minute flight records. You switch this to go from camera to a video recorder. Your camera button – you can go in here and look and see your previous because it’s going to record everything to your phone except you can use the sd card. We have to bring that up your sd card slides right into here.
So what we’re going to do to calibrate the drone as you do, a long press and you’ll see it blinking really fast and it i think then it’ll kind of slow down that means it’s turned on. Then you go to your wi fi and you wait for holy stone to pull up. Sometimes it takes a minute. So right here is holy stone. You press the holy stone. You wait for the check mark and now it’s connected to the wi fi turn on the remote. I usually hit the calibrate button. Then you go to the app and hit prepare and hit calibration, and you see how the the well it’s already calibrated because i’ve calibrated it before but see how they’re blinking really fast and now they and then they stopped and they’re, always on so it’s already calibrated. But to show you again what you’d do is you would spin it three times? Sometimes it doesn’t need to be calibrated every time. It’Ll tell you but see how they’re always on that’s what you’re looking for. So you spin it three times, then you hold it horizontally and you spin it three times and you need these lights to always be on and then you know it’s connected. So when you hit start you see where it says non, fixed mode. This will change to optical mode, Comme ça, and then we know it’s connected because we can go over here and look at the battery right here.
We don’t have very many satellites because we’re inside, but then you see the batteries connected and you see that the phone you see that the camera’s on on the phone on the cameras and then you can see the cameras on on the drone it’s a really good Picture so to change the props it’s, vraiment sympa, it’s spring loaded it’s got this little pin that goes across. It has this little plate that you can hold on to right here and uh. Each props spins there’s two that spin one way and two that spin the other. So when you push it down on there it’ll only let you turn it one way, and then you know it’s it’s on you check it, replace them if they’re damaged and to take it off. You just do the opposite, just turn it and it pops off. Comme ça, so one thing i did want to show you up here in settings is when you hit settings up here this little button right here, um it’s, going to start out in beginner mode and it’s also going to set your max altitude and your max Distance so they’re at 30 meters right now, that’s fine, but i do want to take it out of beginner mode because it’s a little bit windy and it will not go into this uh from 50 à 100 when i hold down on it once it takes off. So to get it to bind what you’re going to do is you’re going to push up and down, hear that beat beep again and then you can pull them both down to the right.
When you look we’re connected to the gps, it says gps mode, so we’re ready to take off all right. The first time i’ve had it up in the air, let’s see it’s still at 50 percent and then i’m going to press down on this now now it’s. À 100 Applause there we go, it doesn’t seem to want to y’all real fast. It does seem to have really good speed, though once i go forward up and down so it’ll roll fast left and right, but it doesn’t want to seem to y’all, not bad Music. D'accord, let’s take her out. It’S been raining all day. Really bad let’s see how she holds out and i’m just going to. Let it come to me it’s a little windy. Let’S just see how she holds pretty good. Look at that Music, lesser yawn, laminage, left and right Music come back to me, La musique, i’m afraid to go over the water to test the distance let’s go out a little bit further Music, D'accord, C'est, probably about as high as i want to take it see. If i can go about a little bit further out here, she comes. It takes a little bit of getting used to it’s hard when you’re flying the two thousand dollar drones every day for work to fly a hundred and fifty dollar drone and expect it to uh handle just like the other ones. It’S really quick with the responses when it’s at a hundred percent.
So let me try to go back to 50 percent Music. So let me try to go back to 50. All right now, it’s moving real a lot slower, nope that’s still a bit 100.. It does seem to wander a little bit, but you just kind of learn. You got to learn how to fly it and take control of it. He’S fighting the wind, pretty good Music. I wonder if i can land it in my hand, La musique, oui, ses, awful wood out here i landed my hands, hey guys thanks so much for watching my review of the holy stone 175. I mean this thing packs a lot of punch for 140 uh the case. The batteries it’s gps, la caméra – is actually a lot better than what i thought it would be. It flies okay, but if you’re wanting to have fun uh, just with like a toy drone, then i would lean towards the hs340 guys this thing’s a lot of fun and the responsiveness of it was amazing, the camera’s not real good, mais pour 55 dollars. If you’re just wanting a toy to get your son or daughter, then this is what what you’re going to want to go towards i’m, really impressed with this. Tu sais, comme je l’ai dit avant, the hs210 is by far the best mini drone. This is a great drone for 55, so this has its own little niche. It fits into right at 140 because for 300, if you can afford it this new hs 720e man.
This thing flies really good 4k camera. But if you want something that folds up then you’re going to go towards the 720e that they’ve had out for a long time, that’s been rated by a lot of youtubers to be the best drone for under 300 and because to really get a really good drone. A good camera drone that has good distance and gps and all kinds of features. It flies amazing, you’re going to have to really start about 600. So if your budget is about 140 man there’s, i don’t know if there’s anything else out there that’s going to have the capabilities of what this does for 140. Encore, if you just want to have fun, i would lean towards the the 340.. If you’re wanting a much better camera but it’s twice as much, then i would lean towards the hs 700. So if you got some good information out of this, please like and subscribe. I’Ve got a lot of really good content coming out i’m about to go jump on a plane and head to sedona and take my fpv drone out and get some shoot some canyons and have a lot of fun and i’ll be reviewing this inspired here pretty soon. Behind me, and a lot of other really nice drones coming out and with a lot of mini drones. Still i love many drones because you got to start somewhere right.
