Για μένα. It did feel as if the world had ended and if there’s a few lessons i can take away from it and perhaps even share those with you, then all the better as we get started. I want to begin by just giving a big thank you to all of you who have helped my channel to reach 500 subscribers recently, i will be pumping out a lot more dji mini 2 content going forward, since you guys seem to be enjoying it if you’re, Not subbed already, στη συνέχεια, please consider doing so in order to be notified of those videos. Now do you folks recognize this piece of plastic and if you don’t know what this is, then please do check out a future episode where i will be talking about how this little thing can potentially help revolutionize your drone flying here in the uk right. So this crash actually happened when i was recording my second ever drone video for youtube a few weeks ago and i just lost a bit of concentration for the briefest of moments, but as you’ll see, that was enough for everything to go wrong here. So what actually happened, στη συνέχεια, was i positioned the drone, a short distance away, but still in full line of sight of the camera, and i took it to a height so that the audience could see it before it flew off for the main event, στη συνέχεια, in a Moment of stupidity on the controller, instead of pushing the left stick upwards in order to gain height with the drone, i pushed the right stick upwards and without any further time to react.

The drone bolted forward with the right propeller then catching the top of the tripod. Just below the camera itself, the home point has been updated. Please check it on the map Music. At this point, the drone began reeling all over the place, as you can see in the footage, and as you can probably tell by my reaction, i recognized immediately that it wasn’t the smartest maneuver Music. Ωστόσο, i was extremely fortunate in this instance, and there was no notable damage to the drone itself as a matter of fact, immediately after the crash, it course corrected itself and didn’t even land, it just carried on hovering once it had. Τέλος, you know repositioned all of its instruments and, Φυσικά, i’ve checked out the props and they are still in full working order as a matter of fact, there’s not even a mark on them, which i think just goes to show how robust these things actually are. Ωστόσο, i have been thinking about whether it still might be worthwhile just changing those front right props. Maybe you folks can share your thoughts down in the comments whether you think i should do that again. In the context, there is no visible damage, not a scratch, not a single propeller bent out of shape. They still spin absolutely freely, Υπάρχει, no visible issue with them, and the drone flies absolutely fine, but just to be on the safe side. Do you think it’s worth getting some of the spare props out that came with the combo pack and sticking those on instead? You know one of my main concerns immediately after the crash was whether the gimbal was going to be damaged at any point, because these things, you know they feel delicate and taking a whack at six miles an hour can’t, do them any favors.

But again i seem to have been extremely fortunate in that there is no notable issue with the gimbal since the accident, but hopefully you know there are a number of lessons that i can take away from this and that’s. Why i’m making this video primarily? So i can share these with you, and hopefully you know you won’t repeat a similar experience, so first of all, it’s absolutely imperative before you even take off that the space around the drone is completely clear now, if you’re not using a landing pad. That also means that the propellers aren’t going to get caught in anything such as grass or leaves, and i would recommend using a pad. But if you don’t have one then just make sure, as i say that nothing’s going to get in the way there. But even with or without a landing pad, don’t just look at the immediate vicinity of the drone make sure that there’s a good few feet all around you where, if you know you do what i do push the wrong stick at the wrong moment before you’ve gained Any height you’re not going to go walloping into anything and in my context, what that now means is that for subsequent videos, i’ve ensured that the camera is a good few feet away from my drone’s takeoff position. So previously i had them quite close together just to get some nice shots, it’s not worth it. I’Ve decided against that and that’s.

Why you’ve seen in later episodes there’s a little bit of distance between the two and, secondly, perhaps not relevant to this specific crash, but still important since most obstacles that are likely to cause you problems, Ας, be honest, are going to be what, within the first 20 Για να 30 minutes of ground level, one of the first things you’re going to want to do, especially if you’re a new pilot is gain height. Εντάξει, as soon as your drone is in the air, one of the first maneuvers is make sure you get a good bit of height, at least that way. Then you know whatever you do with the controls after that you’re unlikely to go flying into anything of importance, but yeah just gain height until you can clearly see that you’re above the highest object in the vicinity. So maybe a tree or a building or whatever the case may be now when we do get more experience, we may decide to want to try and get a few more risky shots, maybe a little bit lower down to the ground but of course, being more experienced. Doesn’T mean we need to get cocky about the situation and there’s always going to be increased risk of crashing this thing once we are closer to the obstacles around us now, i’ve said it before, and i will say it again. I stand by the fact that this device, this piece of hardware, is absolutely wonderful and about 242 γραμμάρια.

It is the perfect choice for the hobbyist here in the uk and other countries as well, where the rules are just far less stringent for drones that are under 250 γραμμάρια. Ωστόσο, its small size does, of course mean that there are some inevitable drawbacks and one of those drawbacks for the dji mini 2 is its lack of obstacle avoidance. Έτσι, unlike its bigger counterparts, the air 2, the only obstacle avoidance presence on this thing is with a downward sensor and that’s, really there to help the drone with its landings, and since we don’t have that extra technology that other models do have, it does mean we Have to be a little bit more careful during flight and especially in particular when we’re taking off and landing. I don’t know what the statistics are of this, but i strongly suspect that most accidents with the mini 2 probably happen on takeoff and landing.
