I just want to make sure everything is working as it should be: um i’m up against top gear for viewers tonight, i’ve just spotted all about drones. I just spotted that mark um i’m, not listening to you again, it’s not happening. Don’T worry not listening. Um good evening, everyone in the chat – Γεια σου, do you know if stu from uav futures is okay, no i’ve not heard anything on that one, not aware of that um evening steve. How are you i hope you are well david owens good evening good evening, good evening, everyone. How has your week been well, it has been an interesting week. Hasn’T it um it’s been a week of more and more information. It’S been a week of um people having problems and that’s an understatement. Ειλικρινά, um rob bro good evening. My friend uh floor flyer, um it’s, been a week of people continuing to crash this thing and not only crash it but break it i’m, going to talk a little bit about that tonight, because there’s, a couple of subjects i want to touch on is that good Evening next year, good evening, bruce, how are you – and i want to talk a little bit about? Is this drone expensive and is this expensive compared to buying an off the shelf? Fpv drone and i’ve been doing some calculations and i’ve been doing some figures and it all comes out quite interesting.

But there are some caveats to that and it depends where you are now but we’re going to look at this from the point of. If you’ve not got into fpv at all, because actually this is a bit of a bargain, including the horrendous cost of the batteries. Ωστόσο, as steve mann has already said, it’s expensive, if you crash it and i’ve even looked at the pricing on that and um we’ve – had a look at some other stuff as well. So we’re going to take a walk through some of this and talk about it. But before we get into that really it’s it’s been a really interesting week and i just want to bring up some of those images i was showing earlier. I don’t ever recall, seeing a dji launch with so many products sitting in a state like this. You know we’ve got this one here: that’s crashed with the arms um braces um. I i’ve not seen the arm braces myself yet i’m, not sure of this design. Um am i up in the corner on this one. I wasn’t sure if it was wrong button, go back to that um i’m, Αλήθεια, not convinced on this design, because that’s gon na act that’s like a it’s it’s, not aerodynamic when you’re flying forward that’s gon na catch. In because of the raised edges, i don’t understand why the raised edges are at the top. Why wouldn’t? They put them underneath, makes no sense to me.

Um it’s been a real interesting week because more than ever, i’ve not seen a product that we’ve seen so many problems with like this, and and this was predictable, we’ve known about that um, and you know i said on day one before this release. My concern is: is dji ready for this and they’re ready for what you’re seeing here, which is that way? I think the way you guys are looking right now and yeah it’s it’s, not a good look, and there is one interesting thing in all of this is they are all breaking in one of two places, and that is either at this arm joint here or at This joint here, where it meets the motors, but the predominantly they are breaking here right on this joint here we’ve had this one which fell off a car, the guy just accidentally dropped it and it broke the right again on the edge and there’s been some really Interesting questions brought up around the plastics used on this model, because this is a close up image. One user has posted of the plastic and it is almost like it’s foam rather than actual plastic um it’s like a plastic foam and look, i think more than ever. The team i i wasn’t really comfortable using that term when this first come out but brittle frankly, and it is brittle that there is no other term to use um i’m, not even sure bruce, is fiber reinforced it’s.

I don’t know what it is because it still seems to break, has a high glass content, hence the reason it’s. Actually just sheering um it’s it’s. You know i’ve never seen a release with this must many many crash drones and then obviously everyone’s favorite image. I i like that image when that one first come out, but you know this is not a good look. You first of all had the luck on day, one that you had the reviewers crashing, the damn thing, and now you’ve just got users smashing them up left right and center. Um we’ve got a guy who dropped it off a car and there really is no um Music, no guarantee at all that you’re going to come out of any form of touch or crash without potential serious damage and yeah it’s. I really don’t know how dji gon na handle this customer service wise. I i honestly there was always going to be a pandora’s box here and you know there’s. My knee i was hoping to fly today. I haven’t been able to the weather, has been keeping me from flying. I’Ve had the same problem as bruce has had with the weather over the last week. Um i’ve had it in manual mode nicholas, but i’ve only had it in limited rate. I didn’t end up. I only had one i’ve actually only had one pack in acro on this drone and i today has been absolutely tossing it down.

The batteries are all here: they’ve been charged, they’re ready to go, and i just can’t get out. I just can’t get out um, Οπότε ναι, it’s it’s been a real weird week and we’re gon na have to see um how it’s behaving and how it’s um going to last longevity. But you know i’m i’m. I haven’t done a review on this product. I have a video out which is not a review and it isn’t a review because it was never intentionally meant to be a review um. Ναι, i did type it went away. I don’t know what happened, but it went away. I can’t explain that one um um i’m, beginning to be very close to the stage of saying i don’t recommend anyone buys this product just based on how brittle it is. Um it’s, a tough one. You know it wouldn’t matter. If a mavic was this brittle because you wouldn’t do the things you expect to do with a mavic, but you do on this and i’m really torn, and i am literally um at the point of saying. I cannot recommend this as much as i do feel it has a home in certain aspects. I i i just it. It is too risky and too expensive, but we will come on to that. We will come on to that in a minute. Teloplus uh, the teller would survive better. I think bruce um. I think the braces are interesting, because if you look um, if you look at um those images, a second one of them had the braces on.

So let me just do that, which one is it that one there that gentleman had the braces so again, it’s just transferred the force, and i think the the issue with the braces is you’re gon na risk actually breaking two arms and not one um, and that, As two bustang has just quite rightly said, i think the risk is you’re gon na break two. Instead of just the one that takes the impact and look, there is clearly a leverage point where this figure is here. There really is, but yeah it’s it’s been a very, very interesting week and um Music it’s yeah it ca, they can’t be happy. They cannot be happy. Ξέρεις, i’m shocked. This ended up out like this and i don’t think it’s a bad design, but they should have put all where the braces put on afterwards to hold the arm. Potentially yeah. You never know. Um we’re gon na have to see we’re gon na have to see um. We really are it, but it you know as a hand on heart i’m at the stage of having to almost say, don’t buy this product. I really am um, but we will plow through um. You know i’m, not quite there yet, but i don’t know i. I have very mixed feelings and the the front the frustration is, i do quite like the product i just wish. It was a bit more robust, he’s uh spring loaded from bumper.

Did i sort my battery problem out? Pixel perfect? Καλά, it went away so i took it for a flight as a pair. My video and one of the batteries was not charged. I have no idea why and i’ve charged them all again since twice and they’ve charged fines, so i believe it was fully uncharged properly. I don’t know i honestly don’t know what happened to it. I really don’t 3d printer for arm protection potentially, but the problem we seem to be having is um that’s. It it’s either gon na go here or here. Έτσι, even if you strengthen that area here or you put a brace between those two points – it’s just gon na rip the arm off here anyway. So you’re, almost at the stage of wanting something from here to here on the outskirts, which links all the way around and you get into the stage of is it worth it? Um could reinforce with a lot of sticks, hot glue, um i’ve, seen a couple of people talking about carbon fiber frames and honestly, i don’t think that’s the answer because as delicate as this is on the outside it’s as delicate on the inside and what you’ve got To take into account with this is, there is loads of little ribbon cables in here there’s loads of little connectors. Even if the frame survives the force all it’s going to take is enough force to rip a cable on rip, one of those connectors and you’re in crap street, again um Music – and this is the problem – it it’s a no win at the moment.

You know unless it’s an extremely well designed carbon frame that literally allows it to hide everything like this um, but there was a guy who’s crashed one of these on facebook. I was talking to and there’s no external damage, but he’s lost gps completely. I can’t get gps on it. Now he’s had to go back for repeat so it isn’t um. As simple as saying it’s external problems. You know it is the iphone or macbook of drones, and you know it’s just delica it. It really is so yeah very strange. Not a good luck this week for this bad boy, really isn’t a good look for this one this week. Can the motors be removed from the arm now. The info i’ve seen is yes, but you’ve got to desolder them. I believe um, the fcc hack i’ll talk about that as a lot of people. Εντάξει, i put a video up on facebook earlier talking about an fcc hack for ios i’ll talk a little bit about it. There is a reason i haven’t shared this fully yet because i’ve been asked not to. Βασικά, there are many many things in the works and – and i was asked i was given the capability through someone who knows a way of doing it, and there is a solution that is shared to a very small group of people. As i understand it, and at this moment in time i haven’t been asked – or i was alluded to don’t – you could show it, but don’t show how to a minute and it isn’t, because they want to keep it for themselves.

They’Re, just not geared up for it and that isn’t drone hacks that’s someone else, but the reality is there is going to be a whole host of fcc’s coming um hacks coming for it you’re going to see a lot of them and the reason for that is It basically works exactly the same as the mavic mini 2 from how it works. Um and the mavic mini 2 hacks basically work on this, so i will talk about it, Αν και, and i will explain a few things but i’m not going to out and out show you what it is yet because i’ve been asked not to basically um okay. So just going up, can the motors be removed. Pictures on facebook show a few images of smashed arms with the braces on i’m chinese giant, dj yeah there’s there’s a lot it’s a strange product. It is a strange product, um Music still sold just moving up the comments now, as always guys, if you do have any questions before i move into it. Um please do. Let me know in the chat. Um it’s been an interesting few days. You know i know, bruce’s review is coming and i did put my video out, which was the review not reveal um and it wasn’t ever intended to be. It was just my thoughts as i was flying it and there wasn’t even um thing. Did i find another solution for activating of the goggles v2? Now no i’ve had a play and it seems this dji solution is working for some and not others.

This seems to be now what’s happening, Um, Μουσική. I will do a reaction, video on ian’s non review. Thank you bruce um. Did i get anything wrong? You don’t agree with well something bad happens, craig edwards um. So on this activation thing, it is still working for some people and not others, and i have no idea why um some people are able to downgrade and switch the models, προστατευτικά γυαλιά, sorry into fpv mode and then upgrade again absolutely fine. Some people are not um. It is out and out typical dji funky behavior now i’ll be honest, it’s unacceptable. They should have had this fixed by now with two weeks since launch. Basically they could have had a firmware update. This is a polling issue, it’s a simple polling issue in the software that it doesn’t show the option. Unless the drone is connected, they just need to change that. It should be very easy to fix. Do i think the car charger for the fpv drone is worth it? They usually are, Ωστόσο, just be cautious on back to back charging these batteries. Where is one one? Δεύτερη, um right, i’ve been using dji smart batteries for many many years and they all pretty much have the same trait. The traits are they’re generally low c, and they do not react well to back to back charging. So what i mean by that is you fly them, you land them and you put it back on charge and what you tend to find is, if you’re, someone that does a lot of rotation of the batteries very fast, they will swell and they will die quickly.

You will need to look after these packs. You will need to give them 20 λεπτά. Rest time, κατά τη γνώμη μου, that’s what i’ve always recommended for the dji packs. These might be different. Ξέρεις, we’ve got no data on these. Ακόμα, Ωστόσο, based on all of the other packs back to back charging is not these batteries don’t like it one little bit current customers are beta testing. Did we guys expect anything? Different let’s, be honest, i’ve been here before many many times. We all know the score vision. One product, half baked version, two has all of the features you want um. Ξέρεις, i think the one thing i’m very disappointed art on this, and i didn’t mention this in that non review. Video because i didn’t really have enough time to look at the image output and that is the recorded image quality. I am massively disappointed in the recorded image quality hand on heart on that now, when i recorded that i’d had some flights, but i hadn’t really spent any time. Looking at the image properly i’ve been doing all of my usual tests on the drone, which is fly. It understand its features, its capabilities, i haven’t, sat down and looked out on our images and that day i did that video and it was a bright day, so i was able to actually get some proper light into the camera. I am very disappointed in the quality of the video and still images.

There is so much noise, so much noise. It is insane, it really is um. Now i have to think. Is it because i’m so used to um the bigger cameras, the x5s, το mavic 2? Pro with the one inch sensor, i had to think for a minute and go and look, and is it because is it me, is it just i’m used to a better quality, but now it’s nowhere near as good it it? Είναι, Ξέρεις, look it’s not as good as the camera on an iphone and it’s the same car and that’s got a much smaller sensor just to look at it. Um noise. In the recordings, my life matters it’s heavily noisy, heavily, noisy um, Εεε. So weird because the osmotion does a better job than a gopro in low light. Ναι, it does um osmo, it really is fantastic. Should i buy the dji charger or just an inv with a lipo, at least, if you buy an inverter, you can use it for other things. The dji car chargers have always been very good and they tend to charge quicker than the mains ones. I haven’t looked for this, but they usually do, but in you’re, probably better with an inverter um. We also had a super chat. I just want to recognize just now. I just saw it come in uh rob muller two you uh two dollars. Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ. My friend, Νομίζω, it’s two dollars two years, i can’t quite see the the icon, whatever it is massively.

Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ. My friend, i massively appreciate it um. How does the recorded image stand along with the fpv system it’s better than the standalone fpv system? Uh rob it’s definitely better than that, but it’s the noise. The noise is just not good. I have nd filters here funny enough, bruce uh. One second freewell sent me these i’ve had a really i’ve known free well for a long long time. I will be doing a review on these. They have sent them to me to be for free, just to be clear, completely clear up front that won’t influence. My review um i’ve, never had a problem with freewill nd filters, though i don’t expect to have a problem with these, so i do have them. Haven’T even opened them yet so i’m going to be giving them a try um this week and what have i actually got? You know i haven’t even looked what i’ve actually got so we’ve got nd4 nda nd16 and nd32 yeah they’re, a very good company, bruce free! Καλά, i’ve i’ve i’ve used their stuff for years and years and years um um. They are very good. I’Ve, never had a problem with their nd filters at all. Um only get 129 for the camera. Keep the stream alive. Ευχαριστούμε. I’Ve got some nds uh reached out to me as well. OH καλά, can you approximate the quantify how much better than the standalone unit well it’s resolution see you’ve got resolution it’s just noisy it’s hard to compare to the standard a unit because you’re dealing with 720p versus 4k, so it’s resolution and the colors don’t seem right To me, κατά τη γνώμη μου, and its resolution resolution is improved it’s.

Just with that resolution is a ton of noise and that’s the problem that’s. The problem. Do you think these are the three um we’ll have a quick look at these on the stream in a minute? Στην πραγματικότητα, um the image quality it it it’s hard. What if i disassemble and filled it with foam the arms i don’t know how well it’ll hold up. Definitely an odd color yeah, just it’s it’s it’s, not tuned, καλά, camera wise at all. We do need some proper sunshine rob 100 and i only had that one day myself to actually look um i’m trying to get these open um. We only had that one day and i i was it – was just noise it’s, just really noisy and okay it’s flat. I can deal with that at the end of the day, cram a lot of pixels in a small sensor. You use a high noise level. Είναι, but we don’t, Ξέρεις, look okay, the the mavic pro the original mavic pro was almost as bad as it gets from a sensor noise point of view. So if you take into account the mavic pro, it was still using the umbrella a9 and it was still using um. The same half point three inch: cent a quarter point, uh half point three inch sensor, so i had to think of the size, then um and you used to get a lot of moire or digital noise, especially aliasing on the image huge amounts of it on those Models, Ωστόσο, this isn’t, like that it’s just noise, it’s out and out noise in the image.

Τώρα, what we don’t know is what sensor they’re using are they using the quad bayer sensor like they’ve, got on um the mavic mini 2? I think they are and the reason i think that is because the way it’s able to actually remove the distortion whilst holding up the resolution, i suspect the issue is whatever soc they’re using. We have no idea what soc is being used in this yeah. We just don’t know, and i suspect, Αυτό είναι, where the issue is because it’s 120 megabits a second. This should look better than a phantom 3 pro and it doesn’t even touch it and and that’s the reality, um and that’s the reality you know dji got that set up at its peak on the phantom 4. If anyone owned the phantom 4 half inch, sony sensor, half point three in sunny center umbrella a9 and they tuned it that it was just perfect as good as that got and it actually went backwards with the mavic mini bk. Συγνώμη, the mavic air. Συγνώμη, το mavic, not the mavic, το mavic, the first mavic i can get myself confused. They actually went backwards because they made it very small and the mavic actually used a plastic lens um, but um the uh bicycle guy, είναι, not great. The noise is very evident in the stills. I can show you guys. I’Ve got one um, Ξέρεις. Let me just find one of the stills i’ve got one of the ones i took they’re, not good they’re, Αλήθεια, not good.

I don’t have an affiliate for the free well filters, but you can get them from amazon or their website they’re. A really good company, um i’ll, put a link in a minute. They’Ve been very good over the years to me um. Αχ, yours is the same bruce. I don’t think that’s working, i don’t, think that’s working, Ξέρεις. Εντάξει, let me just find um dj fpv drone. Let me just find some images uh fpv today, you know um these aren’t, particularly these were taken now, obviously guys you’re watching this to a live stream. Um but it’s the noise. You know this is a bright sunny day. This is straight out the drone, and it is the noise in this image is the problem. I don’t know how well you’ll see this on the stream, but it’s just noisy everywhere, it’s it’s everywhere. I look there’s just noise if we go across to the grass it lacks detail and it it’s very mushy, Πολύ, very mushy indeed um. Okay it’s only a 12 megapixel image. We know this, but it should be better than that. It should be better than that. Um. You know um, let me just have a. Let me just go and do a dive back in time um and have a look uh pictures. Other images drone masters i’m just trying to find if i’ve got images for my mavic pro going back um seeing how it looks promise i don’t know what half of these images were actually taken on um, i never separated them out per model.

That was the problem. Now we’re going to hop into this little thing, we’re going to talk about is the image in the goggles as good as the older, yeah it’s, Καλύτερα. The fpv quality on it is really good. The fpv image is nice, real nice, um it’s, just the the stills it’s, the stills are not good, not good in any shape or form um. Let me just have a look rose bush. These should be on. I can’t remember what drone these are on. Oh god open up the wrong image. One second fp image is crapping low light. Ω, i haven’t tried the fpv in low light. It looks alright in bright daylight to me, but uh console console. Συγνώμη, let me just open one of these up. Uh open with photos. Yeah that’s a mavic i’m, just looking at a mavic pro image here, uh just to show you guys. I think this is off a mavic pro. I don’t think it’s off the mavic 2. I suppose i should actually file info fc 220 what’s, the fc220 i’ve forgotten what’s, the fc 220. Anyone remember fc, 220 mavic mavic pro, Πιστεύω, images, the fc 220 yeah mavic pro original mavic pro okay. So this is a an original mavic pro image, and this is more soft than noisy these ones, they’re not the same type of image but yeah anyway. So yeah image is quite noisy that’s, the reality of it stream’s a bit iffy ah lag.

Are we getting some laggary guys? Oh you’re, not receiving enough youtube is not receiving enough video to maintain smooth butherin. Ω, are we back? Are we back? We are waiting. Are we back if anyone can hear me, please let me know because i’ve told this to start streaming again. You can see me okay, so the browsers on my side have crashed. Let me just refresh these then two seconds guys. I have no idea what went on there: um boom okay, i’m back up there and i’m back up there. I have no idea. I was getting really bad um upload speeds when i did a speed test now. I can’t do this now: i’m streaming again: um Music, you’re crashing um. Ω, what is go. I don’t know if i’m back the route has decided to reboot itself for no good reason. I can see that it has come back i’m streaming with a potato. It feels like i’m streaming with a potato. I have no idea. What is going on tonight at all let’s just see is this now come back up, looks like it has um. I have no idea what i can’t even access, my router now, which is not a good thing all good here. It might be back yeah, Είναι, saying again, youtube is not receiving enough video to maintain smooth streaming. Now i don’t know what is going on. If i’m, honest um, my wizard still works better camera, better drone um trying to get back to my router again just to see what happens uh, something yeah.

It looks like i can’t figure out if it’s, actually a router issue or bt speed test, i can’t figure out if it’s, actually a router issue, or is it actually an issue with um my actual connection yeah, it looks like it’s my connection i’m, getting about one Meg upload i’m.
