I guess you could call it the battery storage, Natürlich, it’s got all those plugs and usb stuff and all that we’re gon na take all this get out in the sun, set it up and see just how good this thing looks and how it all performs. So let’s get started with this review Music. Okay, so i had to have this thing shipped to my mother’s cabin on the mainland, because just to let you guys know they would not ship to hawaii, so keep in mind, it’s always hard to get stuff shipped to hawaii i’d assume that’s the same for, like Other island kinds of um states or nations in the world, but anyway let’s get this thing out of the box. So just opening it up, pull this thing off here and see what the box looks like so the 1002 watt hour 1000 watt portable power station and there’s the solar panel, so that’s what’s in this box, we’re going to do that in just a second there’s. A little picture of it set up on the back of a truck, so great idea. Wenn Sie nicht, want to bring like gas and a gas power generator. Now that electric’s getting more prevalent in the world um, you can just bring an electric power pack like this and, Natürlich, the larger you have, the better you can see. It has like three outlets: it’s got a little lcd display, um input for the solar panel and then you’ve got all the stuff like a whole.
Bunch of usb ports always get excited on my unboxings, because it’s so cool to see what new stuff looks like. Okay, pull this open. Please charge your portable power station to full capacity before using okay. So remember that, technically you want to charge it all the way up and you can also charge it. Um from your house too, like your regular power, you don’t have to use the solar panels first little baggie on top it’s kind of like this cool neoprene material, and there is like a cigarette lighter adapter, and then we have a power brick with that same kind Of circular plug, so you could charge it um from your car. If you wanted to, if you’re camping you don’t have any there’s, no sun plug that into your cigarette lighter, and you can charge the battery from there if you’re charging it from your house. Regular 120 volt wall plug in your house charge it up before you go plug this in here into the power brick and you can charge your whole portable power system. There zip this guy up. I like these cases, Weißt du, because you can just throw them anywhere. They’Re soft, so it’s not going to really damage any finish and stuff when you’re throwing them around has a little strap here and seems pretty robust. The zipper is not gon na doesn’t. Look like it’s gon na break or anything let’s see what else we got little. Guy here – and this looks like a parallel adapter cool right in the back here – you can hook two solar panels into it and combine them right into the power station and that’s all that’s in the box check it out, es ist, just basically a y adapter, so that’s Going to go plug into the power station and then this is coming from two solar panel arrays anyway.
Let’S pull this big guy out of the box and pull all this stuff out. So some paperwork – just some foam for shipping and storage – take off this little lcd guard there. There we go and on the bottom we got rubber feet: orange nice, fest, rubber feet and there’s really nothing too much to it. I mean it. Doesn’T weigh that much feels like about 15 pounds of weight, not that heavy turning it over to this side cool is an led light, so you’re taking this out at night. You need to take this out and do some powering of things or you’re camping. At least you have a flashlight to light your way while you carry this thing over and it is pretty bright it’s just like basically, a single magnified led light in there. Cooling vents allen, wrench keys here, so you could take this off and get to the guts of it on that side. Auf dieser Seite, just cooling vent with the allen wrench screws there as well, and it looks like all the way around these are just regular, phillips screws. So you could take this whole thing apart. If you needed to service it, but again it is a 1000 Watt. So i have a little honda generator, das ist ein 1000 Watt, an old honda generator that takes gas and it’s been running for a while. So können Sie, you could essentially replace that with something like this and you could power all the same things.
You need to push that in order to activate these. You see that little button, it turns green 110, ein 1000 Watt, so this is pure sine wave and right. When i hit that i heard a fan go on, so it is going to be fan cooled for when you’re, using the ac ports that are probably going to draw more amperage, okay and that’s it very simple. Nice sturdy kind of like unibody design with the handle, looks like it can take some abuse. Natürlich, es gibt. A couple of manuals here, kind of tells you how to do the whole thing: there’s a guy sitting in the country in the forest, using it to power. His computer and they have different models too. Ich habe die 1000, it looks like they’ve got possibly up to like a 2000 oder 3000 model that’s, a pretty big boy, different size, generators for your needs there and just a little warranty card and then here’s the instructions. So explore 1000 Drohne 90 watt around 20 recharges, Okay, so maybe a good power pack to bring with you. If you’re into drones, like i am or rc’s, you could probably charge your mavic 2 or mavic pro or phantom pro for 20 battery packs worth with the ac outlets. A 12 inch laptop at 30 watts for around 12.5 charges, that’s quite a bit 32 inch tv that draws 60 watts for 14 Stunden, usb ports, Natürlich, for phones and cameras that’s.
What all these are in the front very useful to have all those say: it’s completely dead after you come back from camping or something put it on your wall, plug it in remember, came with those adapters right in here plug it into that one. It will get you fully charged in 7.5 Stunden, it’ll fully charge in about 14 hours off of your car running, so you’re driving and you’re just charging it and then a 100 watt solar panel, which is in here we’re gon na unbox in just a second, depending On whether 17 hours to fully charge it anyway, Sehr einfach, not really nothing to it. Let’S go ahead and get this thing on the side here and unbox these solar panels, oh cool. This is two pieces so, wie Sie hier sehen können, two pieces of the solar panels, so we’re going to use that y adapter to bring them in there’s all the specs on the size and weight. I don’t know if this is just the box or the panels themselves, aber auf jeden Fall, let’s break into this, and the reason i’m here is because i’m on spring break with the family, and here we go so this is actually all the specs on the solar panel model. Solar saga, 100 es ist, ein 100 watt peak power panel system cell efficiency is 23 es ist, an 18 volt panel. Also im Grunde, what it’s going to be doing is it’s going to bring those in parallel with that y adapter into the charger current coming out of these panels.
5.55 Ampere bei 100, sun and there’s, some other uh specs right here. If you wanted to see what the dimensions were on the actual solar panels, so we got two of these cool. These are not. These are not very light, let’s just open one up, since we got two and they’re exactly the same. We’Ll just pull one get one open for now, and these are cool man. Look at that handle right off the bat. Very industrial and travel ready, camping, bereit. Another little one of those same cards let’s take a look at this one. Zuallererst, we’ve got i’m first noticing these little uh holes here for tie downs, so you can tie it down to whatever on the side of things if it’s windy tie it down. With these little rings, Hier, we’ve got looks like a weatherproof type of zipper. It’S got that weatherproofing plastic material on it and check that out, so it does also have an output here. So you can plug right into this usb a and usbc little led that’s going to light up when you’re ready to go – and this is the output. Remember that’s going to plug in so if you want to just had one panel you’d plug directly into this port, merken, aber, we got two panels and so we’re going to link both panels up to this y adapter and, as you can see you just plug in Straight in from the panel, the other panel will go here, and this will just go right in to there so dual panel connection for ultimate charging of the setup cool huh again don’t have to even use this.
You can charge right off the panels as long as you have direct sunlight, was irgendwie cool ist. Oh cool, look at that so it’s like a 45 Grad, stand see how this goes like that, so you can just put it up and it open this thing up. Wow let’s, let’s close this up and check out the panels. So real simple, as i open that up, i just got another instruction manual here, so you guys can glance over that if you wan na, so we open this up. This is magnetized right here, very cool on the handles very rugged feeling, and these look like those optimum solar cells, those high efficiency ones. Like those sun powers, Ich glaube, sie heißen. I actually bought some of these to put on um some of my rc aircraft to see if we can do some some solar charging. While we fly with these types too and check it out very well done, it looks like they even kind of have a textured diamond cut pattern to give them more efficiency, possibly for charging in the sun really well done. Really durable. Coating here i’m loving. These super industrial durable handles and i’m loving how they just magnet shut. That is awesome so anyway, i’m gon na go ahead and unbox the other one. Behind the scenes, we’re gon na get out to a location in the sun and uh, see how they all connect hook up and see how much power they’re actually outputting for the sun.
I have here i’m in the midwest today, so we’ll see how all this works. I’Ll meet you out in the sun let’s. Do it okay guys, so the solar panels are, with the two solar panels right here: ich bin, just kind of carrying it out to the sun. Here the two solar panels are just a little bit lighter than the actual generator here so i’m, just going to find, like a nice sunny spot right around here, sun’s about maybe 45 degree in the sky, so i’m going to set the solar panels up here’s. My little y adapter let’s just set them up, so you guys know what this is kind of all going to entitle when you’re using them. If you want to get some like this, that just blows me away how like well made these panels. Are they just seem like they’re, really solid, Das heißt, pretty much almost perpendicular? If you wanted to you, can kind of push these feet up and adjust them for the terrain, see how it’s a little bit crooked here so i’m just kind of adjusting it. So i have as perpendicular of a shot to the sun as possible and here’s how long this cable is. They give you quite a bit of cable, Also, no matter how you have your panel set up, if they’re you know on the wrong side or whatever this see, how far this will reach. This looks like about 10 feet of cable, so that’s actually pretty cool.
I think i’m going to put these panels over here, put our generator kind of in the shade here and grab our y adapter plug one into one of these y adapters inputs clean it off, like the other one in there. So you see how that works. Two solar panels are plugged in to the y adapter, and this is just gon na plug right into here. Let’S see what happens when i first plug it in display on Music plugged in and let’s see if it’s charging nice there we go. So look at that. Wattage, hopefully you guys can see this in the camera i’m getting 125 watts input. Es ist 4, 17 Uhr. Here in new mexico, and even at 4, 17 Uhr, ich bin, giving up getting 125 watts of charge power just by plugging right in there. Also 37 i’m going to check in when the sun kind of goes down, see how many hours it was charging for and we’ll see how much more it’s charged from 37. Okay guys, we can put that in the shade. So this isn’t heating up the batteries and stuff and there we go let’s, look at it from the front, so optimal charging is going to be best for these if they’re they’re in the right spots, so we’ll just kind of put them up against each other. Einfach so, that looks like it’s kind of optimal array right into the sun: es gibt, Nein, no shade on the panels right here, set it up there out in the middle of nowhere when you’re camping, and you can charge that thing from dead in about 14 Stunden.
Let’S just see what we get in a couple hours here: Okay, guys so it’s been just about an hour. Let’S see what’s going on i’m seeing the sun is just tr starting to fall down below the trees and, Wie Sie sehen können, on the panels, we’re starting to get a little bit of shade on them. Yeah we’re only getting about a 13 watt input here. So down from, mögen 125 An 13 Watt, it’s really important to make sure that you don’t have any blockage on your solar panels shade or keep them clean, So sind wir, only getting 13 watts in it’s been exactly one hour, es ist jetzt, 5 19. We started at 4, 19, 4, 20 ish and we started at 37 percent it’s now 47 percent so effectively, 10 in one hour, exactly so that’s what you can expect direct sunlight. It doesn’t look like you’re, really gon na get um, possibly the 200 watts that they claim you can. Maybe if it was like noon you’d get that maximum 200 Watt, because of course, when the sun starts to set and it gets late in the afternoon, it’s got to kind of go through more atmosphere and stuff. So i think what i’m going to be doing is this is her little cabin. My mom’s cabin is we’re, going to be putting both solar panels, probably right here and then either do a shelf system or just like a hanging system and then, as the sun winter months, it’s it’s a little more slanted right like a 45 degree summer months, the Sun kind of gets more high in the sky, so just a system where you can turn the panels up.
You know you don’t want to blow them around. So you’ve got to figure out some kind of pivot system where we can turn them up, maybe just a shelf, maybe just like a shelf all the way across and have them both here and just pivot them out more as the summer months come up, and then I think what we’re gon na do is just drill a little hole here for the solar panel cables to come in and then she’s just gon na have that um battery system right in the corner there for people to use she has a little solar panel in There for her solar lights, always powering off of solar power, naturally from the sun, is always super awesome. So we’re gon na see how this whole thing works. I’M gon na visit next time we might be buying a house over here so but anyway, that’s how we’re gon na try to set it up on her cabin nothing permanent. So we can just like remove those panels from hooks or on a shelf and she can take them with her wherever since they’re so awesome and fold up, you know really really a cool deal here. Let me get something and let’s plug in here and see what kind of charging we can get off of it. Unplug this guy that’s, the dual port splitter right, hang that over there so no dirt gets in there i’m gon na. Just put this thing right on the rental van here: don’t tell anybody, but just right here, and i wanted to show you guys um how this thing performs.
Okay, so i got this guy here. This is a great little battery backup for traveling it’s called the zender 27000 Mah, so it’s got a bunch of those little lithium ions cylindrical cells in there it’s cool, because it has regular usb a high output and then also has high output, 60 und 100 Watt. Usbc, so i bring this with me all the time traveling and we want to turn on our ac button or the little fan come on for a second and i’m, just looking at the display on the charger when i plug it in using one watt output and There we go once this thing starts, blinking, which it is now. That means it is charging, so you can see that little lcd, hopefully blink in and that’s only using one watt, so we’ll leave this thing plugged in for a little bit. Oh jetzt, it’s using seven watts interesting just started just upped: its output, Okay. I also have my little ipad mini here, so let’s kind of charge. This see what this thing does ipad mini 5 and then remember. We need to turn on the um, the dc rail here, with all the usb outputs, so we’re turning that on. So we also have a green light and i’m looking at 67, this thing’s drawing 7 watts on that other one and let’s go ahead and plug it into the 3.0 quick charge port for the higher output. Okay, i just heard the tone here looks like it is: charging the little electrical um icon is coming up on the battery, so the ipad mini is charging and now it’s using 15 17 21 let’s see if it keeps going up 21 Watt.
Alles klar. Remember a little dji osmo pocket. I use this thing a lot. This is not the two it’s the one, but i just want to plug this into so we’re at 21 Watt. When i plug this in to charge i’m. Seeing this light blinking here and now, wir sind bei 24 watts so it’s using an extra about three watts of power. Now it’s at 28 watts fluctuate a little bit there cool and it’s still at 47 charge on the explorer 1000 29 watts in use right now. All these kinds of things guys, you can use these kinds of battery backups to charge when you’re, camping or you know, even when you’re working around your house – and you need to be away from your house and you need to have some power. These things are all pretty cool, so bin ich, using the two usb a ports so i’m going to unplug my camera. The osmo pocket from 29 watts let’s see if that drops on the output, yeah drop down to 21 watts on the output there down a 19. i’m going to plug in this other one. Now this is for my little watch guy, and this is a little magnetic thing, it’s right around 21 Watt – and this just is like an inductive magnetic charger. I’M gon na put that on there we go. It is charging seven minutes till full. es ist 96 percent let’s see if this fluctuates from 21. There we go to it’s like 21 An 23 Ja 23, so war das wie 2 watts on this guy.
So all those little kinds of cool things you can do with this, this guy and that’s just really awesome to me anyway. Guys we’ll finish this off with like a pack up, so you guys know how fast and easy it is to pack up two solar panels. Unplug, the splitter take one solar panel, make sure there’s no dirt in there. Natürlich, these things are so cool. They just magnetize right up and of course, we just put these things. Those little feet down and velcro right in splitter will go in there and then remember these 10 foot cables are just going to kind of coil right up and get right in here. Natürlich, merken: don’t get any water and stuff on that little port and all we do is kind of make an oval get our bag over. It zip up our bag and you’re going to want to remember that that splitter’s in there, if you do this there, we go that’s one panel, all packaged away, ready to go in the car in the camping truck. Wherever hang up on your wall outside, like i’m gon na, do to this cabin shake it off close it up close up our feet and velcro them so they’re, not in the way their feet to angle it i’m in the mud dirt right here. So i want to get all that stuff off. I just like to do this just to show you guys how long this kind of stuff takes like real world situations.
You know so coiled up put the bag over and zip that bad boy up. So these things look pretty weatherproof. Once you have this zipped up, you see how that’s pretty weatherproof i mean for a little bit of rain and stuff. I wouldn’t have this thing open and let it rain on those ports. Remember those ports inside there right here. You want rain to get in there, but you can remember directly charged. I didn’t try that, but you can directly charge off of it and it does state that you can do that with with the same kind of devices i was using there, so you can charge like a cell phone or an ipad or something which is really convenient, But there it is guys two solar panels and this thing turning it off. Unplugging everything done done a couple of minutes. You got a full setup and a couple of minutes you got a full breakdown, i’d say a minute for each. Vielleicht, when you’re setting up maybe a little bit longer, because you want to get that angle right on the sun and you want to make sure they’re not going to fall down and they’re secured and the wind’s not going to blow them down so that’s. Warum? They have those little um loopholes here. You know you can always put some rocks around the base of it or something if you’re camping anyway. I hope you guys enjoyed that. That was super fun for me and you enjoyed that kind of full unboxing and review of the jackery explorer 1000 with the dual solar panel, solar saga, 100 Setup – and i will see you guys in the next one.
Don’T forget all the stuff. I review here in my reviews, is down there down the description, make sure you check that out and also subscribe for more cool reviews and products to come. See the next one.
