This is the c fly, faith 2., and i guess it would be nice if it turned out to be a good drone. But i got ta think twice because i’ve flown c5 drones in the past and while the hardware has generally been pretty good, the software has kind of been a little bit buggy. So i need some time to really put this thing through the paces. So i can really accurately depict have they improved, so we’re gon na find out. If my buddy george michael’s got it right. Do you got ta, have faith Music now let’s talk about the drone here. It has a 35 minute flight time and a range about 3. 000 meters now i was getting about 30 minutes 29 30 minutes of flight time on batteries and that’s pretty darn solid. Now i would don’t suspect you’re gon na get 3000 meters of range. I stopped doing range tests a while back just i just don’t feel safe doing them with drones like this uh, but you know you know a thousand meters. You know you’re definitely able to fly this thing beyond visual line of sight, which you shouldn’t do, but it is a solid connection. I actually really do like the camera on this as well. It is a 4k camera on a full three axis gimbal and it shoots pretty sharp images. I found that the stabilization in the yaw was kind of where it lagged behind a little bit.
This thing is going to outperform anything in the 200 price range. It’S got your beast pros: it’s got the roku f11 sjrc, all those things beat in terms of performance and video quality, all right, we’ll start by looking inside the app you have your beginner mode height limit speed. You definitely want to calibrate your drone, and then we have some remote control settings some battery settings and then just some general information i like to make sure my grid is on and there’s a nice little find my aircraft feature here. So that’s kind of cool all right, so let’s take a look at some of the camera settings. You know i’m shooting in 4k 30. You do have 1080 60. If you want slow mo white balance, make sure you turn the water marks off. You can change the photo resolution mess with the iso or the field of view. You can even kind of change some of the scene modes if you want different uh ways to shoot and things like that different colors now let’s take a look at some of the different options. You have. You know there’s normal mode. Follow me mode, waypoint mode rocket mode. You know that’s just a straight up. You can change the distance drony up and away. Helix is kind of like an orbit uh where it kind of spirals up and then boomerang is similar to that um. You know another uh shot where it’s going to be rotating in a circle.
Now i i found that some of these circle rotations weren’t the best we’ll, take a look at some of that video here in a second but i’m. Just going to show you a little bit of the active track, i shouldn’t say active track tracking right and what you do is you line your subject up in the center and then it’s going to follow the remote control. You can kind of see that i did that there using the gimbal and kind of positioning the drone, and then i can move the drone up and down with the slider on the left. So you can see right now, it’s, six meters away from me and that’s, really the only thing that you can kind of adjust, while it’s in flight now here’s another view of it tracking me. I really do think it did a pretty solid job of keeping me in the center of the frame you can see as it kind of rotates around as uh kind of changes distance. That wasn’t me that was it now let’s. Take a look here at some of the video coming out of this drone. I do think it’s pretty darn crisp. I think the colors are pretty solid right out of the box it’s a good looking videography drone for a beginner. Now here we’re looking at an orbit. You can kind of just see i it doesn’t kind of yaw and rotate smoothly. I kind of feel like it’s a little jerky and that’s kind of where you know i find that it struggles the most in terms of videography, just kind of that jerky side to side motion as it kind of rotates.
Now it does have a zoom function. You can see there was that slider on the right, um and and another thing i’m, not a super fan of it’s kind of the gimbal movement. It was kind of hard to line this shot up because it’s just kind of jerky it just moves quickly. Now look again just some more video coming out of this drone. It does a nice job. I think it’s kind of cool shot with the sun bouncing off that little pond there, but again a good drone, decent color i’ve been pleased with this out of c fly. Generally, i’ve been disappointed by their drones, but this is a pretty solid little machine and good for a beginner. Now the return home worked pretty well, you can see if you’re on the field i like to use the bag, sometimes it’s my launch point and that’s how close it landed. On my return to home my first one was a little bit further away. Uh. Second, try not not too bad, but not exactly. They even did some little things right like putting protective cover, so your sd card, doesn’t pop out, you don’t, generally see that on drones, um under 200.. They get a two battery package in this nice case. For about 300 that’s not a bad deal remote here works well, it’ll fit a larger phone. My iphone 8 plus barely fit in this thing, but it did accommodate it so there’s that does kind of feel like a plasticky cheap remote.
So you know not super high quality, but it definitely gets the job done. You actually connect the remote to your phone’s, wi, fi and that’s. How you get a little bit better range than you would out of just connecting your phone directly to the drone. They do give you a battery charger for these in its proprietary. You have to use it and it takes about six years to charge one of these things actually about five six hours. So you know just kind of keep that in mind. You wan na go fly. You’Re gon na have to spend some time waiting for these batteries to charge. This is by far the most capable c fly drone that i’ve ever flown now, the question is: is it worth three hundred dollars and that’s kind of hard to say? I think if this drone was 200 bucks, it would be an absolute slam. Dunk i’d probably even opt for this drone versus something like the mjx bug 16 pro, and i really like that drone that’s about 240 dollars. You know at the same price point i’d go with this, but this is a little bit pricier. So it’s kind of hard to say you know the flight modes on this thing are actually pretty darn impressive and they all work pretty well. My biggest gripe on the flight modes is actually the orbits and the circular ones like the helix and the boomerang. I just didn’t feel like the yaw stabilization was really all that great.
So just kind of keep that in mind. It does jitter a little bit now. You’Re not going to get professional quality pictures of video out of this drone, but you’re getting a whole lot closer than anything in that 200 price range. Now, when the mini s, e drops from dji that’s going to kind of kill this thing’s market because that’s going to be an absolutely better drone, but i do think there is a place for this drone, especially if the price drops you know, some people are just Kind of anti dji you’re not getting any geo fencing with this thing, you just take it off and fly whenever you want. Overall, this is a pretty solid beginner drone and i was kind of impressed how it flew. I honestly, i was not expecting much. I was expecting glitches galore, but this thing has been performing flawlessly for me. We hope this was helpful if you don’t already subscribe the channel we’d love for you to consider doing so.
