An Honest review of SKYDIO 2
Alright! This is the video you have been asking for, Placing the Skydio 2 to the take a look at within the bushes! I lately took the Skydio drone out into the mountains to mess around …

What other videos would you guys like to see of the SKYDIO?
WOW!! I have mine on order and I am so impressed, never thought it would see those small branches, it works so well! Can you have it fly backwards in front of you?
Wow. I can't believe how it kept up with you during that quick switchback across the bridge. It lost sight of you under the tree but then figured out where you were and did "target reacquired". Amazing !!!
Nice!!! Is the beacon waterproof? I know it won't work underwater, but can it survive getting wet or falling in water without getting damaged?
You gonna die falling off a cliff looking at your drone. Be careful.
LEARN TO FLY WITH THE STICKS PEOPLE! No autopilot will ever be able to match me when it comes to judgement, depth perception, situational awareness, and the ever changing, fluid, and dynamic flight environment. Nothing can compare to the rewarding feeling of being a competent skilled r/c pilot.
That was an honest video. There will always be something that “obstacle avoidance” can’t figure out. Skydio 2 is definitely better than average. It’s still not quite there yet though. If it was rock solid, we’d be able to buy them in Japan. Currently not available in Japan and we can now see the reason why.
So many cut out editings but it's a start. Good job.
Excellent review of what it can and cannot do. Thx!
I already pre ordered…..you make me want to get a mountain bike but I live in Miami….maybe I can take it up a bridge ?
but at least you are honest about it.
yeah not the DJI killer lol
Thumbs up… Wow this is much better than the first skydio.. It's unreal.. An cool that u can manually control it as well, awesome ?
That drone looks wicked, I'm considering getting one soon.
If I threw the Beacon in one of my large airplanes do you think it would follow it around?
Great video, shows the SD2 isn't exactly what is shown in the ads
Wow
He looks like Willem Dafoes brother….
Dang. I assume all those cuts you had to take over. That sucks pretty bad. I was hoping to use this snowboarding through trees and if it's getting stuck that often and in some of those situations then that's a big issueand so different then how it performed in early videos.
You can not easily get back up to find it when in snow so hoped it would find a way up to go over trees if needed.
How to buy im from the Philippines
What happened at 4:26 and 4:45? Both are cuts in the tracking. Did the drone lose you and require that you return to re-direct it? At 5:11, you had to stop to give the drone time to recover the "scent." What would have happened had you not given pause? Where would the drone go or land?
Your choice of location includes a greater mix of convoluted dense and semi-dense obstacles than featured in other tests, to date. My guess is that someone, flying in barren Eastern forests in winter, on a cloudy day, will find it is difficult to track (or direct) through labyrinths of tree twigs in low contrast settings.
The question is not whether the Skydio 2 obstacle avoidance never fails, since nothing is perfect, but the junctures where one can lose or crash it.
I like this flying GoPro 🙂
Very good content, is it possible to have a video over the sea or near waterfall please ?
Thanks for your content
Did you solo shot in all your footage there?
Super awesome! Very excited for this thing. I can totally see how it does massively better when there is more open sky.
Is there a way to keep it's view angle locked? When it goes fast to catch up with you it tends to get so close that it has to pitch the camera so low that most of the scenery is lost! While I realize it's tracking the subject, there is only so long that having the subject front and center makes for an interesting shot! It needs to be able to keep a distance lock where it doesn't ever get so close it has to look almost down or it has to at least be able to pull back after a few seconds so it can get a wide angle and the viewer can appreciate the awesome scenery that no doubt everyone with a Skydio 2 will be filming!
I noticed some places where the camera jerks into position for some reason. What's up with that? Also, it would be nice to see the unedited shots or an explanation where you used fade transitions when the Skydio 2 appears to get stuck but never actually stops. Why all the fades?
Anyway, looking forward to more Skydio 2 videos from you! You are a perfect use case for demonstrating it!
Great video Kyle! I’m looking for an upgrade from DJI Spark. This looks cool, I’ve subscribed. Does it have RTH (or return to the remote control?) and is it WiFi or ocusync?
…how bout making a vid where the drone is in front of you?…..
Great vid. No other drone comes close to this kind of tracking. One year after this is released stand-by for the Skydio 3 with folding arms. Until then there is a war room over at DJI with their engineers shitting bricks…lol.
Thanks for the review. How long does the battery typically last while riding on an unobstructed trail vs. a wooded trail?
Aweesoomee dronee!!
Does Skydio2 have an automatically random shot mode?
I would love to see how it tracks at higher speeds in that terrain. Thanks for the video.
Cool
Good video, thanks for sharing
You made the greatest review test on skydio 2 overall. Thanks
hi, kyle your review is the best man, thanks for making this video. It shows us the limitation of skydio2 but overall good job dude. you should try s2 on high wind places, I wanna see how the AI will handle that , thanks man
this video looks sooo sooo much better then the last one… it must of been the 1080P forsure.
